OMG, that's amazing stiltsk!
Really, anything you could try to say to explain how you can do that with your voice, please. I have no idea how to achieve that. I just don't know what to do make my voice sound like that. I don't know how to talk in my lower chest.
Yeah man, I'll try.. it's incredibly difficult to explain, but once you find how to do it - it's easy to do on and off when you need to. Let's just throw this out there and say right off, that I know NOTHING about vocals and singing or anything so I have no idea what to call anything, or what to say in regards to certain stuff. I'm just hoping I can go through this with elementary vocab to vocals and you guys just know what I mean lol
The real thing I did was just mess around with my voice for a while until I found it. But, I did this a lot because I do a lot of voice impressions randomly.
When I first started to try to pass on the phone, I tried to push in on my throat because it lowers it abit. It sounded raspier but it was deeper. But I knew that I couldn't do that while walking around, so I gave it up.
I kept trying to find the pitch I needed, and the first thing I did was clear my voice the deepest I could with an "UHM" sound accompanying it. I kept doing it until I found the area of my throat that I needed my voice to come from. I need to force it to come from deeper in my throat than normal, and because when you clear your throat, you need to go deeper to get all the build up mucus(yeah it's nasty. whatever) loose, then I knew it'd work. It clenches your throat(your chest sort of lurches harder outwards than normal when you do it as well)when you clear it and that same area, along with that slight clench of the throat makes your voice deeper. It takes practice, but it works...
I'm not sure if that helps T_T
