I cast back my lurker status to start posting again! Though I already started earlier today...oh well. *shrugs*

Signs to know when to move out of a small town:
1)Everyone knows you are trans and refuses to call you she, or if you find someone who doesn't know they are quickly informed
2)Your boss who loves you as an employee wants to pay for you to go to something called Sozo to help you get 'unconfused' about who you 'really' are
3)You find yourself dressing as a man for some CNA home health visits and female for others out of necessity to work, your boss praises you for your flexibility
4)You haven't had a date in 4 years and your social circle can be counted on one hand and/or internet fetish sights start to look attractive in attracting a potential mate
5)You realize that instead of scrapping and begging for transition supplies and services from medical professionals, a gender center is in a major city one state away

So yeah, looking to hopefully move to Denver maybe in the next year and a half maybe even sooner. Only problem is I would like to get into nursing school, and supposedly it would be easier to do in this small dinky town by going to the community college. That and I would like to have SOME justification for spending the last 5 years here. >.>

Well, there's another way to look at it also. If they run you off they've won but if you stay you may just force change and you just may educate them a bit

I did the small town with bigots and fools for a couple of years but it was so demorealizing... so I moved and now live in a nice little area where even when I was featured in newspaper I don't get any hassle though there are still a lot of bigots and fools who let me know by their stares and smirks that they see me as queer/freak/perv but luckily we have Hate Crime Laws so I haven't had to call  police to any for three years nothe big benefit from moving is that lots of decent people will be happy to call you miss/this lady etc.. and that is worth an awful lot.
so on balance I'd say move but have a good recce of the place first.
big city shoudl have lots of GLBT places so a core of people with broader minds.   But is that possible in Mile HIgh City?

I'm hoping so, Denver is supposed to have a gender center. Not to mention has big parades and glbt events. So hopefully I'm gong to have my nursing license by then, or at least have most of my credits transferred. Might be a good place to try to kick off my stand up routine as well.  :P
