Injecting T and muscle twitches

I just did my T shot, and I've been doing them every week for more than 6 months, so I must have done about 30 of them if you count every week from April 4th.

I've always used a 21 gauge needle and I've never had any problems. Never hit a blood vessel, never hit a nerve, never had an obscene amount of pain.

But when I just did it now, as soon as I pushed the needle in, my thigh muscle twitched. The one on the outside of the thigh, that I was injecting into. It was a big twitch too, I could see the entire thigh just kind of ripple, like a spasm. If it hadn't hurt so much I would have thought it was very cool.

I had to keep going though, I didn't want to pull the needle out and change it and try again. My needles come put together with the syringes too, so I don't even know if I can switch needles without wasting the T that was in it.

I'm just wondering what problems you've had while injecting T, and how often you've come across a problem. This is my first problem in almost 7 months of injecting T, and still I think I'm going to feel a little hesitant next time I have to jab myself.

I had that happen once too - as soon as I pushed it all the way in, I felt a surge of pain and I pulled the needle back out on impulse. It was a reflex; beyond my control. I simply disinfected it and re-pinned in a new location with no problems.

I've done that a few times (remove needle and re-position), so you can draw your own conclusions from that. Re-using a needle in quick succession will not kill you (lol).

wheat thins are delicious

Luer-lok needles/syringes are ones you can screw the needle off of.

Mine didn't happen when the needle was all the way in, it happened when I had just started pushing the needle in, I guess as soon as it hit muscle it made the muscle spasm. I stopped pushing when the muscle spasmed, but I didn't pull it out. After the muscle settled down again I just pushed it the rest of the way in. I try really hard to relax my thigh when I'm injecting so it hurts less, but I've never had my thigh spasm on me before.

I'm wondering if maybe there's just not as much fat to go through any more because of fat redistribution.

Needle is 1 and a half inch, I leave about a quarter to a half inch sticking out, I don't go all the way in, because I'm paranoid of the needle breaking off.

I am alternating thighs. Could be dietary issues, I'm not eating super well because I don't have any money. What deficiencies give you muscle spasms? Potassium? I just thought it spasmed because I was sticking a needle into it.

I'm pretty sure it is potassium that gives you spasms and cramps.  Buy some bananas, high in potassium and pretty cheap too.

Sharky

Avacados, baked potatoes, and orange juice are good sources of potassium.
