Alzheimers study has implications for LGBT people

The implications of these figures for the LGBT community are huge.

"With at least 5% of the adult population being LGBT people, the increasing numbers within our community suffering from this terrible condition will be very significant.

"At present we estimate that there are 35000 LGBT with dementia but we have little or no idea where they are.

Okay, I'm being really evil. I used to work in a nursing home so I know that's a horrible fate, but how is this worse for LGBT than anyone else? When you're old enough for dementia nobody really cares what your gender or sexual orientation is anymore, you're just another body that needs to be taken care of. I know that's harsh, but that's my experience and I'm sticking to it!
