I met him. He was a nice kid. I really don't have an opinion on his music. Although, it's not my style. Give him some time, he'll fade away like Hanson did. So will the hair style.

I should like to preface this that I'm generally rather indifferent upon both subjects.  Certainly more towards dislike than like, but even more toward indifference and ignorance [I'm not too familiar with either] than dislike.

I think people hate him because they are a) tired of hearing about him  and b) tired of hearing his music everywhere.  Whenever someone makes it big there is always a mass group of people who turn to hating them because if you don't understand why they're so great (or if you specifically dislike their music) being inundated constantly with music, merchandise, and gossip can cause one to rebel against it.  I doubt very much that the root of the reason is that he sounds like a girl, and I don't think you should get offended [seemingly almost as though that implies some sort of trans hatred] because they think he sounds pre-pubescent [or "like a girl".]  Above anything else you should be happy for the hoards of people who are obsessing over a boy who looks and sounds like a girl.  People also don't like when people [especially young people] they don't see any merit in are so successful for seemingly no reason.  You just kinda want to shout out to all their fans and ask them what the hell is wrong with them.  Same thing has happened to many-a-popstar.

As for twilight, its the same sort of thing....  Why is this awful book getting so much attention?  From what I've heard its not a bad story, but my friends who read it all said it would have been a lot better if it was better written [my one friend said she wanted to take a red pen to it and fix all her errors.]  I've never read it, but nothing about it sounds like my cup of tea.  Its also rather hyper christian and "save yourself until marriage" type bull->-bleeped-<-.  So a lot of people can hate it for that.

A lot of it, also, is more of a hatred of the herds of mindless fans who are just the sort of people the "haters" would hate in the first place [sans beiber/twilight obsession] rather than the actual subject of their obsession [thats generally only a mild dislike/indifferenece in my experience.]
hmm, well I think the book wasnt really my cup of tea eather thouhgt I have only read the first,
it was okay but nothing better, I am not a romantic person and the book were pretty "typical girl romantic" so it wasnt really something I got all crazy about, but I could understand why many girls would like this serie, after all. and even if they dont like it they can always look at the halfnaked guys (like me LOL)
---
about JB I think your right, the problem is not his music or him as a person or anything, but I think the fact is the girl stuff, I find almost offencive, I know I probebly shouldnt, but I just somehow get kinda angry. maybe im just sensetive, or maybe I feel it offensive because I can sound/sing like a girl and people would say the accept me for being trans and when they go for JB then they go all hating on how girly he sounds and so, I guess I cant stop thinking if they hate him for that then they would hate on me as well, or maybe not accepting me 100%
know its stupid but cant stop getting these thoughts into my head.

Try twisting them around.  Sure the haters choose that to pick at about him, but think of the masses of people who think he is the bees knees.  They all love him despite (and perhaps even distinctly for) his "girly" attributes, so maybe those features that are seen so hot in him would/could also translate in their mind as hot in you.  Depending on the person "zomg you look like justin beiber" is probably a compliment.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Hate is a really strong word. I don't know enough about him to hate him... But his 'fandom' along with all the other similar singers and 'pop' stars out there is what pisses me off. Not even the music itself per se but the appreciation it gets for being such bland drivel; it's more the thought that so many people out there are fanatically happy listening to songs with less meaning than lint and will shun anything with a shred of credibility to it - songs not usually in the charts.

Every now and then an artist comes along who can make it big time with respectable, provoking and throughout songs - that is outstanding, but the fact it happens so little now (and most songs, especially by Beaver, are about girls afaik - or by others, sex, drugs and money) kind of makes me feel a bit sad for humanity. Strive to learn, listen to things outside the box, experience things outside the box, not just be happy with what corporate moneymakers want you to be confined to in order to make the most profit.

Being 'different' is also a stupid trend because then you close your mind to popular stuff that is all right, granted, there's very little of that, but I just wish people would be individuals and find out what they like by themselves. And if someone does that- makes an informed, individual assessment about Beiber and then likes his stuff, power to them because you like what you like and you can't help that.

I like Justin Bieber.  I like his music and I like him as a person.  I watched the Justin Bieber movie "Never Say Never" with my little sister.   I think he's a nice boy.

I might sound alittle rude,
but I feel the "I like justin bieber" or "I hate justin bieber" is alittle of topic.

I am not asking if anyone like him or not but for a opinion of the negative comments JB gets,
specially the girl comments, and for the girl part, if im the only one felling alittle offended by that or not,
if you gonna post comment that you like him or hate him, please answer what you think of the comments, because thats what I made the threat for.

sorry for being directly
just dont want the threat to go into a dicussion whatever people like him or not cause its not my topic of the threat.

people say he looks like a girl for the fact that it makes them feel better about themselves. personally i think justin bieber is gorgeous and i would "go gay" for him so to speak.
I don't agree with calling him a girl but this is reasoning I disagree with. People call him a girl because he has a more androgynous beauty, longer hair, and a higher-pitched voice. Not all insults give a profound statement about an individual, except perhaps one about their manners.

Yes, I agree with that. I am guilty for thinking he was a female at first. And that has nothing to do with my self-esteem or anything like that he just does have an androynous look and sound.

Some people just like or dislike things. There doesn't always have to be an explanation for everything. Even if it's not that relevant to the original post, he might have just posted to show that not everyone thinks he is a whiny ->-bleeped-<- girl. I don't know much about him to create a valid opinion.
The story is the same, I've just personalized the name.

sure theres diffrent opinions but my question wasn't "do you like him or not" thats not my thought of this, and not my interest since the topic is something ells.

and its not just to 1 person but in general I would like for everyone if you wanna say whatever you like him or not, please do answer the topic of this thread as well, because thats actually what im mainly interesteed in.

Yeah it is a bit off topic now. Well as far as comparing him to a girl... Most people I guess don't realise how harmful it is. It's like using the term 'gay' as an insult.

Think of it like this: almost anything can be turned into an insult if someone dislikes someone. If a man is very macho, and someone dislikes him they might call him an 'ape', a brute or misogynistic. If someone is thin, people will insult them as 'skinny' 'skeletal' and comment about how they should eat more... Someone is a bit overweight, insults aplenty.

Gender roles are so deeply rooted within society, people can't help it. It's ingrained into children from a young age to be one gender and stick to the activities and habits of that gender... Or you'll be ridiculed. People who like him obviously aren't going to 'insult' him and him apparently 'looking/singing' like a girl doesn't come into it because they aren't looking to insult him. Those who do not like him turn to what is obvious to insult him with - that he is a bit fem looking and his high pitched singing voice...

It's sad but true, and something that will not easily be changed...
