Kia Ora,

::) From what I gather quite a few member's here have a good education, some university educated, no doubt we have professors/lecturers/teachers/doctors/lawyers/ scientists/ etc[the 'literate elite'] at times this can be quite intimidating for some...

::) But on the other side of the coin there are also members who have not been so fortunate in the education department, bullied at school, rejection, ridicule-possible other learning difficulties that weren't pick up by the teacher- which forced these trans children to leave without obtaining the basic education, the ability to read,  write, spell, properly, they struggle with grammar, spelling 'BIG WORD'[I quite often have this problem and have to use the online dictionary/thesaurus-and quite often get told 'in no uncertain terms my grammar is not up to scratch]...

::) Of course it's very important to get a good education if one wants to get on in life, but the fact of the matter is 'some' have [due to bullying rejection etc] missed out...

It's quite possible some lurkers reframe from posting comments for fear of being cut down by the grammar police, ending up becoming a minority within a minority 'fringe dwellers'...

It's all well and good going on about "How 'I' got myself out of the rut and got a good education good job etc, etc!" Often ending with "Well if I can do it so can they !" Now there nothing wrong with this, in fact I think it's great when I read stories about how one dragged themselves through school, got a good well paid job etc, but it's different strokes for different folks, some are more fortunate than others, and because it worked for them doesn't meant it will work for others in the same way...

I would just like to say to those lurkers...Don't worry about the grammar police, feel the fear and do it anyway, post what's on your mind, it doesn't matter if your grammar or spelling's bad,[we all make mistakes-some just don't like to admit it] one can normally work out the important points in what you are trying to express...

Like most things in life "practice makes perfect!" the more you post the more confident you become and through trial and error your communication skills 'will' improve...

BTW English is my Mother tongue and I'm still not fluent in it !
