Mohler favors gay gene manipulation

The idea was floated by R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., on his blog, almohler, March 2.

"If a biological basis is found, and if a prenatal test is then developed, and if a successful treatment to reverse the sexual orientation to heterosexual is ever developed, we would support its use as we should unapologetically support the use of any appropriate means to avoid sexual temptation and the inevitable effects of sin," Mohler wrote in advice for Christians.

I am stunned. How can anyone be so totally blind to their own hypocracy? How self righteous must one be to totally turn off reality?

But I must admit, this gave me a tremendous release of laughter.  .... incredulous.

Good point Kate.  He's kind of hoist by his own petard here.  He's admitting that there may be a genetic link to GLBT, something vehemently denied by the Southern Baptist Convention using all sorts of made up and flawed "studies."  This would mean such a genetic link, using their own vernacular, is "ordained by God."  So Mohler, rather than submit to the "will of God," is instead setting himself up to be God so that he may choose who is what according to his narrow minded beliefs.  Can someone say "Brave New World."

I wonder, if this becomes widely know, how long he will remain President of the seminary.
