Felix

I went to a single parent meetup for thanksgiving dinner today. I didn't know anybody, and I wasn't sure how to handle gender and whether or not to explain. I decided whatever I don't care and don't feel like caring, so I introduced myself as Felix and just acted casual.

I didn't realize I was passing (they had an equality sticker on the front door, so I figured they could tell I was ftm and just didn't find it strange) until I said that getting a bone set "hurt worse than childbirth" and two women seemed kind of offended and said there's no way I could know about that. Lol I am such an idiot. :eusa_doh:

I stammered a little, but the moment passed without incident. The only other slight problem was a guy at some point not believing me about my age. All in all it went so much better than expected, though. The food was great, my daughter was pretty mellow, the other guests were pretty cool, and we made good time catching buses home.

So many of my adventures end in awkwardness or disaster. This one did not. :)

Congrats, that's awesome. Always great when things turn out better than expected.

I looked around at one point and realized all the guys were in the kitchen and the women were upstairs with the kids. Social gender is so weird. ;D And I wasn't the shortest guy there, which I worry about sometimes.
