Sex-change officer quits police - after learning she'll get WPC's pension

A former Paratrooper who joined the police as a woman after having a sex change has threatened to quit the force because of a row over her WPC pension.

Jan Hamilton – who used to be 16-stone Ian Hamilton – launched a tribunal action after being told she could not transfer her old pension to the police fund because it was still in a man's name. The 46-year-old left the Army in 2007 after 20 years with the elite Parachute Regiment.

To be frank, this sounds like more Daily Mail hype.

The dispute is over integrating her army pension with her police pension.

The last sentence clearly says that she is no pursuing any dispute.

Sad that the Mail doesn't seem to have learnt yet and is now taking on the police in its pursuit of creating the ideal story.
