Thank you for that. I really enjoyed seeing and hearing her. She seems like a really nice young woman.

Good for her for coming out and sharing her story.  I grew up in Baltimore,  it's where I got beaten up in the middle of the street for being a trans even though I'm a cisgendered woman.  The people there live in a strange way,  there are some enlightened people but a large part of the county is uneducated and ugly.

That's why I moved to NYC at 19 with 8 $ in my pocket and a one way ticket.  Anything was better than "Crazy town" as I refer to it.

I hope she sues McDonald's and gets a huge payout so she doesn't have to worry any more.

I was glad that Ms. Polis finally gave an interview, she puts a face on the MacDonald's incident. As for Baltimore...reminds me of the HBO series "The Wire", which took place in "Charm City".

And your experience Mixie with violence towards someone "perceived" as Transgendered/Trans, reveals an ongoing problem there to say the least.

Another nickname I found for Baltimore was...Bodymore.

I was attacked in Baltimore 20 years ago.   It's never changed, the attitudes in that town are very much the same.  It's odd because John's Hopkins is there and the Harbor is wonderful but the people are really twisted, very old fashioned and religious and racist,  the odd bird that is interesting. 

I'm really proud of Chrissy Polis because she is standing up for herself in a very bold way.  When she said that she couldn't get a job after it came out I totally believe her.  I hope she gets enough to retire for life.  They could have killed her, she had a seizure.

She never wanted to come out. She said before that she hated the fact that her entire history is all over the Internet now. Even in this interview (which I think is some extra footage from an interview that she gave shortly after the attack) she mentions that it is really difficult for her to get a job now that everyone knows.

I am pretty sure she would never have gone to the media with this story if other people hadn't done so for her. I think she is a perfect example of someone who became a transgender role model against her own will, and I really feel sorry for her because of that.

Even though she had the video put all over the internet you couldn't really see her face in the video and they didn't really know who she was.

I'm saying good for her coming out because it is really dangerous, upsetting and stressful to do so.  I really hope the girls who did this to her suffer greatly  for their years in prison in order to learn a lesson.

But I totally agree that it is not fair.

It is. Unless she wore the same blouse and stood in front of the same building.

This is new to us but it's not a new "coming forward" on her part.
