I normally use pills, but I want to switch to something more potent and one shot per week is also easier
But problem is. I today want to take it (first by myself) and I can't jab it onto me, I just can't
I try to use recommended needle 22G (Black) x1 1/4 It is so giant in my hand  :-\
What needle do you use and have/had you also problem with it ?

Hmmm...

Have you received any instruction on how to give an Intramuscular Injection(IM)? 22 Gauge 1-1/4" is the appropriate length for the deeper muscles (Glutes, Legs). If your Doctor prescribed it, get his/her Nurse to show you how to self-inject and where, care should be taken around the Glutes/Iliac Crest to avoid nerve damage. Otherwise...have a skilled Healthcare provider Inject you. If you have received instruction and demonstrated with a"Live" IJ (Injection) several times, have the items you need (alcohol, band aid, sharps container, gloves-optional), then its fairly simple, if not you could end up injuring yourself and getting a possible infection.

And by the way, you should only do this if it has been prescribed by a Licensed Healthcare Provider, and you have received the proper training and instruction on how to safely perform the task. Otherwise...don't do it!

22G isn't that bad. c:
That's about the same gauge nurses give vaccine shots with o:

This post only makes more anxious to get on IM injections.
Pills are boring and i hate taking them twice a day, everyday.

You can't because you're scared to or like the needle won't poke through your skin? It's natural to be a little scared when you first start injecting trust me it gets easier over time. You shouldn't have any problem penetrating the skin unless the needle is super dull or you have hard skin like superman lol.

I used to use 22G 1 1/2 inch needle when i first started out. The 1 1/2 inch needle is for big people that have alot of fat tissue to penetrate through, if you're skinny like me then 23G 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch needles should be plenty fine. I wish i would have known that before hand cuz those 1 1/2 in needles were way to long for me & it hurt like the dickens.  :'(

I started with 22g needles at 1.5 inches (had a meh batch) and changed to 23g at 1 inch (same brand). I've had more problems with BD syringes (what I got at target) then covidien/kendall.
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.

i use 25g 1.5" 3ml, it does the job fine, doesn't hurt. i used to use 22g and it was ok too, a bit more of a sting but no real pain. if you get 1.5" don't insert them all the way unless you have a good chunk of fat on your thighs.

21g Green. 1 + 1/2 inch.

I know it dosen't need to be that big and when I use these up I'm gonna switch back to the 22g black 1inch like I used to.

I used to use the black ones to inject into my bum. but as the months went by my ass was where most of my development got shunted -.- and I couldn't reliably hit the muscle so I switched to the bigger deeper ones but then awhile after that I switched from injecting in my glutes altogether choosing to inject my deltoids making the current huge size of my needles unnessercry.

It's annoying that I have to do it but I always druge myself into it with an internal arguement between the childlike part of me that wants to eat skittles and haribo for dinner and the responcible adult part of me whitch gets everything done...

Whitch is what most young adults do from what I gather.

"It's that time again."
"But I dun wanna... I wanna draw pictures"
"Do you want to deal with the pain of not doing it?"
"no"
"look you don't have to do it all right now... just fill the needle and syringe and prep it."
*Preps* (procrastinates 5 more minutes)
"you have to do it now... if you don't then you've wasted £7 for nothing."
"ugh fine - I hate it when my adult side is right"
*sterilizes and injects* ow Ihatemylife-Ihatemylife-Ihatemylife-Ihatemylife
*Sorts out the mess* "Good now don't you feel better for it?"
"No I feel sick and my boobs ache."
"But you know thats a good thing... means your getting bigger.
"Shut the hell up I'm gonna sulk about how crap my life is and have a nap."

Usually when I wake up from that nap my boobs have indeed swollen up some.

I use a 22g X1 inch. I give my shot in my upper leg once a week. I really don't feel it at all. And there is no pain when the injection is being pushed into my leg. I feel much more stable with injection as opposed to pills. The only thing that compares is patches. But it would take a bunch of patches to compare.

I use a 25g needle to draw and inject my testosterone intramuscularly.
That works fine, though I'm sure you could draw quicker with a needle of a larger gauge.
I'm going to assume that estrogen is about as thick as testosterone since they are usually mixed with similar oils, so I probably wouldn't go any smaller than 26g or something like that.

I was given 25 by mistake and it was almost impossible to fill syringe and even more impossible to inject. I would recommend nothing more then a 23.

I remember my first shot. It took me about 6 tries, I am not afraid of needles but the second the needle got within 2 inches my reflexes stopped it, it was so strange I literally couldn't give myself the shot and I wanted too!

Definitely use the leg, NOT THE INSIDE- MAJOR VEIN!! the butt has too much fat and the arm may be too difficult. Shots are the way to go, if you find a compounding pharmacy its real inexpensive.

Are you saying it was hard to inject because it was too large or too small?
Because 23g is actually a larger needle than 25g - and yeah. I've never had too much of a problem with gauge of my needle, but I don't know if the type of oil your hormone is in would make a difference in how hard it is to draw. Mine is in a cottonseed oil - I don't have trouble drawing if I'm patient enough, but if you want the process to be over in an instant, I can see how that can be really annoying.

I always inject in the side of my upper thigh. It's one of least veined parts of your legs, so I usually bleed less as long as I don't forcefully stick myself. As for your anxiety, there have been times when I've had to try five times with the needle before successfully getting it in my skin. This is likely because the needle is dulled though and not the size of the needle - so it doesn't happen often. I can see how having bad experiences with injecting with a smaller needle could be really anxiety inducing. A dull needle is one of the main reasons a lot of people choose to separate needles to draw and inject. >< I don't do this, but yeah.

No it was harder because it was too small. I know the smaller the number the bigger. I now use a 21 its bigger then maybe I need and its not the greatest to do but it works better.

As far as I know the femoral vein and artery are closer to the inside of the leg then the outside. I was told not to do it on the inside by my doctor. I rarely have any blood where I inject and its also a 1 1/2 needle.

I have instructions and when someone jab it into me it is fine and no pain, I'm just too proud to go back and say I'm too scared to do it myself
I finally use smaller needle 25G and slowly put it into my leg, after first touch I don't feel it (strange thing) and injecting take little longer but I have a time  ;D
