THE mutilation of intersex newborns and infants seemingly never ends and goes on everywhere across the globe, this time in the Russian city of Rostov. Intersex genital mutilation (IGM) could very much be considered a disease of modern medicine, a disorder of medicine's all-too-common magical thinking.
