Lately, we have been getting a lot of requests for our participation in surveys, studies, and projects. Staff won't catch all of these threads right away, so we need your help. Regular members can help to keep us all safe by reporting such requests; in other words, report first and ask questions later unless a staff member has openly stated in the thread that the request for participants has been approved.
Sometimes requesters will state in the thread that permission has been granted, but I wouldn't take their word for it. Generally speaking, it's better to lock an approved thread for a couple of days than to leave an unapproved thread open.
