         I havd beeb to my Dr earlier this month.  My E was below 100.  So she upped my estrogen pacthes .  My problem is that I don't understand why the patches can't be in different levels.  Vivelle is mg a patch ( I think).  Why can't they make a patch that is  mg or mg. ?  Also thre box only comtains 8 patches each.  That would be 3 boxes every 4 weeks.  Why not a box that holds 20 patches?   To answer my own questions- The only reasoning  is money profit.  The mfrs can charge more for the littler doses and you have to keep comming back more often.  Everyone has to make a buck, except the little guy.

Generally speaking, if you read the instructions that come with the patches you'll find that each patch is worn for 3.5 days, irrespective of what strength they are. Thus giving you 28 days per box.

For your own safety and knowledge, it's a good idea to ask your Dr. about your medications, strength, duration and outcomes/side effects before you leave the consultation. Even if you don't fully understand what they are saying, ask them to repeat in such a way, as so you do understand.

Transitioning is such a risk at the best of times, you must place yourself in a position to accept full responsibility for your actions with respects to transitioning. As you progress, you will be asked to legally sign various consent forms indicating that you fully understand the ramifications of such actions. Now is the time to learn to ask the questions and understand the answers. Not when it's too late.
