Soooo last night I broke my rule about avoiding places that serve alcohol to celebrate my friends birthday. We went into the city and went to various bars clubs and pubs. I actually had a really good time! I was the designated driver (I dont drink anyway so im always designated lol) so i was stone cold sober (no dutch courage) and i have to say i was a little scared before we went.

We got into the city about 8:30 iirc and went to a very packed bar with bad music and a bad vibe. We werent there for long but i was seriously thinking i couldnt deal with being out in that environment (its never been my scene, im not a huge fan of crowds etc) we then went to a smaller bar and had a nicer time and we started getting in the party mood. After that we hit up a club aand this is where my night really started to pick up: As i tried to walk in i got ID checked and the bouncer thought i was a cis-woman trying to get in with a guys driver licence and he nearly refused me entry untill i put on my "dock worker bass voice" and scared the crap out of him XD. Then when we were inside a guy called me "darling" and said "see you later beautiful" as he went into the crowd (massive ego boost). We danced to some crappy mainstream music and it was alaugh. Then we went to a seedy techno-joint and I really got back into my comfort zone, rave music, girls not dressed like sluts, loud bass and a guy taking money on the door who could barely see the coins i gave him. We stayed there for about 4 hours and had a brilliant time! Thought i would share my nice night out :) I know for a fact i was passing almost the whole time, i didnt have a single bad word said to me and i met loads of nice people. (Including a rather dishy young man)

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

:) Thanks guys, It just goes to show that most people either dont notice or dont care about trans folk. I think being trans gives you a bit of an ego-trip where you think the whole world is staring at you when really you are just another anonymous human individual.

Sounds just like the title says! Glad you had fun, I hope I have a night like that soon!
Don't judge a book by its cover! My lifes been like a country song! True love, amazing grace, severe heartbreak, buckles, boots n spurs! I 've been thrown off the bull a couple times, I keep getting up and dusting myself off! Can't give up on my happily ever after!
