When I heard this song, I was never more relaxed. I felt that I was transported to a different world. It's just the dynamics of the guitars, the voice, the mandolin, everything...

Of course, I didn't really look at the lyrics until recently and I have a good reason to believe that the song is partially about ->-bleeped-<-. Led Zeppelin was everywhere in the 70's. They were the biggest socialites in the world, almost with Godlike status. In their accounts and books written about them, they did hang out and party with LGBT folks, including transgendered people. Do you guys this song from their third album can be about ->-bleeped-<-?

That's The Way, Led Zeppelin

That was released in the fall of 1970 during my senior year in HS.  It was about the ecology at that time.  The dying fish mentioned was a normal occurance back then from industrial effluent.  A lot of songs could be interpreted differently, especially 41 years later.  A song from that year that is more towards transsexualism:

I remember when this song came out on Zep III (I think I still have the vinyl lp stashed away somewhere!).

I always considered it an ecology song, and quite different from the heavier zep I liked, such as the Immigrant Song from the same album.
