Penguin = code word for period

So I'm 1 month on T and just had my first cycle since starting. So like, my penguin is retarded heavy compared to what it usually is. Does this have anything to do with being on T? Like has this happened to any other guy where you had a really heavy penguin after starting T??

If we could discuss doses, that's the first thing I'd want to ask.
My penguin as you put it would always arrive within long and heavy strides.
Basically, it was the worst.
However, I cannot say much about my penguin once Mr. Testosterone paid me a visit, because she never came back.
Not even once.
Perhaps I'm just lucky, because I never liked her anyway.

God, that was so much more fun typing that than it should have been.
Meow.

Yeah, I was too initially, but I guess it just depends how receptive your body is to testosterone as well.
Also, my testosterone levels were on the lower side of the average female prior to HRT, despite the fact I was still capable of growing hair on my lip and had always looked extremely androgynous.
I dunno. It depends on the person.I also work out a lot and have an anti-aromatase in one of my stacks. That may have helped me along a tad. I also have been eatjing a very T positive and anti-estrogen diet. Yeah, I'm a health freak. Do it up. Lmao.

I hope Miss penguin leaves you alone soon though...
'cuz like I said, she's annoying.
Meow.

I went to talk to my GP about very significant discharge changes after starting T.
He told me that basically ANYTHING is very normal. Your body does a lot of weird things to try to get itself balanced. It also has close links to the way that being on the pill could affect your body. This is probably a sign that your body is trying to "hang on" to femininity.

So yes. This is related to T and very normal.

Hmmm, wow okay that would make sense. I'm glad to know that it's a normal thing. Thank you so much for the info :)

No worries :)
i know how much I was stressing with my similar issue. I'm going  to go get a pap smear to be 100% on the safe side even though my changes down there have  settled. Transitioning is still fairly experimental, so precaution is the best measure.

My first one after starting T was the worst ever in my life. I bled like I'd been stabbed. It was awful. After that it diminished quickly and went away. I had maybe two after that, and not bad.

I had four after starting T, and all four were heavy as hell...

I had mine come around twice after starting T. The first one came the day after my first shot and the last one was right after my 3rd shot (I'm on a 10 day cycle). My shark week was super regular on a 19-21 day cycle prior to T, so I was sorta expecting it the second time. They were both really heavy but were way shorter.

So if a female body has more T than average amount, that can be main reason of cramps and heavy pain during period?
It is really weird after all... because I've never taken T. But I have to deal with strong and thick body hair, greasy skin, acne and more (I don't wanna self-diagnose but looks like my body's dealing with more T that female body should produce by itself...) and it's stabbing-twisting pain I have on the first day, sometimes on the next too, but lesser... Is it possible that taking T would make this even worse?  :-X  ???

Andris -

I learned after having my levels tested this is not necessarily true. I've always assumed this since my hair was really thick & greasy and I had pretty acenic skin compared to most females -also a pretty high libido and masculine demeanor. I also had the period from hell for 6-8 days out of every month. If I did not take a pain killer during the first 2-3 days of my cycle, I would feel feverish and have such a insufferable stomach cramps that I felt as if I did not press something up against that area I would vomit. My flow was also extremely heavy. All this said, it does not mean your levels are necessarily like mine, but I found that my T levels were on the low part of "average" for a female, both loose and total - meaning that this had very little to do with the amount of testosterone my body was producing.
The way you are now could be more hereditary than reflective of your testosterone levels - however, this is not a bad thing if you plan to start and are worried about bad period cramps. You do sound similar to me and I have not had my period once since starting HRT. I don't know if having less T in your body somehow makes your body more responsive and receptive to the injections since your body has to adapt to a more drastic adjustment of hormone levels, or I'm just lucky. It could be different for anyone regardless of thier levels, because I have not done much research into this kind of correlation.

So, yeah.

JasonRX,

I see. Thank you for sharing experiments. The fact that I'm not "dying" az you did, though it can be real terrible when I can't get some medicine to wash away the pain just before it starts... Good to see your being lucky then.  :D
Today found a book in library about hormones in which it says that not only one kind of hormone causes imbalance. But some together! But it doesn't say anything specific just telling that oestrogens are basically important...  :-\
I may go to my doctor to send me to some endocrinologist, at first. Maybe a test will show whatever's going on...  :)
(And you're probably right about that hereditary stuff... I asked my mother yesterday and told she also had hard penguins, all the time, before the conception of me. Pfff..)
