A kippah (pl: kippot) is a small round/dome shaped hat sometimes worn by Jews.
A tallit (prayer shawl) is a rectangular shaped piece of fabric with small tassels on the corners and is worn mostly during Saturday morning services in synagogues.

Both of these garments are traditionally worn by men, however in many different Jewish denominations women are breaking new ground and claiming these garments for themselves.

I am a Queer Trans person and wearing a kippah or a tallit is far from a simple choice!
