FFS order of things

I NEED a scalp advancement or transplant or both even if i don't transition. I HATE the thought of balding and I hate the thought of having this ugly widows peak. I'd possibly like a Rhino as well to give me something a little smaller.. I've always disliked my large nose.
IF i were to transition I'd probably need the works. If I were to have a scalp advance/rhino in a year or so would that make future FFS impossible/problematic?

What about the double facility/anesthesiologist fees if you have two surgeries?  You may find it is much more expensive that way.  What are you considering later that you don't want now?  Is it more of a lets see what HRT does or are you afraid it will force a transition before you are ready?

Just as a side note since I just noticed that you were posting and I've seen your post on our body art thread.  You will likely have to take out all your metal.  I was told to do so, but they also told me that I could put it back as soon as swelling let me so I shouldn't lose anything.

I don't see why that would be a problem. I had rhino 4 years ago and I'm now about to get the final set of FFS procedures done. In a way it's good to do one or two procedures at a time because you may be satisfied after the first round and be finished. But on the other side, it may be more expensive that way like Jeneva mentioned if you end up wanting more things done.

I'm glad I got my nose out of the way first because now my recovery from FFS won't be as bad.

Scalp advancements are generally packaged with forehead work since they use the same incision, so I would definitely do any bone work on your forehead at the same time. Otherwise, no, forehead and nose are a good two procedures to do together and they don't stop anything else being done later. And if you end up needing transplants on top of the scalp advancement, it's good to get it out of the way quickly.

You can definitely lose piercings. I lost a helix. Had to get it repierced.

You lost it because it was out too long or because they stretched at your ear too much?

How long had you had it?

My lip, nose, and tongue were all I'm really worried about, but I do wonder about the others now.

I say forget scalp advance and go for FUE transplants.
I had the FUT transplants that actually pulled my scalp back so the transplants didn't cover as much as I was expecting.
Aftre the op my eyes felt pulled right up and I wasn't happy at all.
Scalp advancemet uses the little hook things to ensure scalp doesn't pullback but I'd be wary of it.

I'm going for FUE in new year as that will cover the area with no pullback.

I had it out too long ~a week. I'd had the piercing for almost 2 years.

The ace bandage that covers your entire head makes it kinda problematic putting stuff back in. I didn't want to mess with it, so I ended up losing the helix. I also didn't expect a cartilage piercing to close that fast, but whatever. Apparently I heal fast.

I had the FUT transplants that actually pulled my scalp back so the transplants didn't cover as much as I was expecting.

Dr Z does both scalp advancement and transplants (not at the same time of course) and he said do the brow advancement first and then see if you still need transplants. He said after 9 months he can do transplants.

Also keep in mind transplant shock means it may be a while before you have a good hairline with transplants. Of course scalp advancement will cost you some hair but not as bad as transplant shock.

Whew!  I was afraid it moved the hole. I asked about that because I didn't want an eyebrow piercing to end up on my forehead 

So I'm going to spend a while trying to get these back in. Oh joy some of these are great fun to screw on the ends unimpaired.  I had to buy tools since my snakebites are segment rings and won't come out without pliers.

Sorry to steal your thread meatgrinder (do you have a preferred name?). Although I guess this is still relevant since you have more piercings than me.

I lost all the transplanted hair by ten days post-op but ten days later all the follicles were pushing new ones out and none of them have dropped out.

No worries about the piercings, I had to take them out for the tongue split and a couple other surgeries as well. They don't play nice with a cauterizer.

As for what I'd want now vs later, I'm on the fence about the whole transition thing. Fixing my hairline and possibly my nose are thing I'd do even if I stay male.
