Ok, so here is the reason I am going in REVERSE ORDER. Cos for me FACE is your MAIN IDENTIFYING FACTOR.

I dunno about the rest but me I am so DESPERATE to have my vagina, am concentrating on it more than anything else. And it's not an emergency the boobs and face as I pass more or less for now. I'll do my face last cos I don't want ANY straight men or anyone to know I was trans. Imagine you have a female face then you go with a guy and you're pre-op and he rumors this everywhere that you had a penis before.  :o So I said I won't have sex with any straight guys till I'm POST OP and FFS done and once the final FFS done I will also cut off from all the past people as family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, etc...except the straight guy who I love but who still doesn't know what I am. I'd just tell him, well I just changed my face.

I don't understand why ALL go by FFS 1st, then boobs, then vagina? Am I doing wrong by going in reverse order, is there a reason you all go in proper order? Am I the only one going in 'reverse order'?

I never thought of that before.  Is it even possible?  I thought that all the doctors and surgeons follow the standards and they say you can't have the SRS unless you live as a woman for a period of time.  It was a year until a friend told me that they changed it to less than that.  I think that you should be able to have a vaginoplasty, but I don't know it seems to be out of place.  For me, I would want the face done first because I want to LIVE as a woman.  That is my primary goal.  Many of us can't even afford the vaginoplasty, but we still live as women.  I think psychologically its more important to have the Facial Feminization and the estrogen first because you see a woman in the mirror.  What's the point of having SRS if everywhere you go people call you a man because you look like a man?

I don't think there should be a waiting period or a timetable for SRS.  I think it should be done whenever its right for you.

I think everyone's transition is different so there's no order for doing things.

For me, in the order I'm going about it, its:
1. Therapy
2. Support Group
3. Hormones
4. Facial Feminization Surgery
5. Laser Hair Removal
6. Living as a Woman
7. Gender Reassignment Surgery
8. Legal Changes

Hi there,

Well I ALREADY live as a girl, in Thailand you don't need to have lived 2 years as a girl etc..., but hormones I heard is obligatory 6 months unless u have some good excuse. Psychological letter too is required but this can be done by any random psycologist so quickly. It's ONLY in Europe and USA that are HYPER STRICT.

And personally I advise you to do LASER ON FACE 1st before doing FFS because to what I heard your skin can become hyper sensitive after doing FFS and laser is quite painful. Doing laser after FFS might be 2 times more painful.

I'm going for laser hair removal first, followed by FFS after a year or two. As you said, the face is the main identifying factor, and by altering my face for it to be more feminine, I'd remove more of my old self, which would (and will) give me heaps of pleasure and happiness.

AbraCadabra

My order of things was...
1. Shrink, March 2011 till March this year
2. RLE from April 2011 ....
3. HRT from June 2011 ... (DIY initially, didn't want to wait for >1 year and being 24/7/365 on RLE! Due to ->-bleeped-<- system in SA)
4. SRS this September in Phuket
5. ... BA if Mother Nature will not oblige me with at least B cup 38.
6. ... FFS... call it a face-lift, not too sure about Maxillofacial (bone) job, if finance and present mood allows.

I pass tolerably and don't feel the need for big hooters (BA). Being 38A will do for now, and FFS gives me the heebie-jeebies, yet got to see one that does not show, hey it's a face job.
I let mother nature do some more work with HRT before I decide to mess with HER (or my chest or/and my face).

Note! No FFS before all facial hair has been removed (top surgeon request) AND a MINIMUM of 1 year HRT passed, better be 2 years. The same actually is the case for BA.

Just 3 1/2 month ago during my GCS, I seen a tg having breast reduction surgery!!! 'cause she couldn't wait to see what E would do for her. THAT... sucks!
FFS, is in the same league (for me).

So your plan sounds A-OK to me.
Some natal girls have boy faces, some have flat boobs, but they do have a vj, not a penis. Easy peacy, or?

Take care,
Axélle
PS: listening to your youtube presenation on the other thread... 1.A = VOICE TRAINING!!!!!
pretty as a pin you'll be, but your voice needs to get sorted, ok? Hug, Axelle

Honey theres no damn reason to start with FFS.  :-)  With enough concealer I can make any one pass.

But no really, looking like a girl is 90% how you dress and act.  FFS is all about being pretty.  I want to get some things done, but  I'm right one with Miss Axélle.  Shrink/RLE, HRT, SRS, BA(boobs), then Face work.  I'll want to combine SRS and BA.

But it's really a Users Choice thing, yo?

@Axélle-Michélle, you know I'll be under the 1 year mark (just), when I start HRT.  (05/05/2012 <3 )  But it's with my shrinks ok,  Dr. Eli Budd.  Hes Actuly Transeguy.  And he net will do sesions over the net ^.^  so if you need a shrink?   :D

Sorry I promised him I'd mention him, hehehe.

But I'm sorry you had to deal with one of those ->-bleeped-<- types sweety /hugs

@Jennifer :-)

I'm hopefully done with shrinks, lest I need them yet again to finalize my German ID name and gender change.

I had SRS, yet they (the German courts/judge) now want info as to having lived THREE years minimum as a female... and am HIGHLY likely not going to change back to my male position - with vj? Hum.

That time frame I can not fulfil yet, and I might now need yet another shrink to confirm that I will not likely go and change back...
Never mind SRS, RLE, HRT for close on 2 years.

Horses for courses as they say...
Hug,
Axélle
PS: Oh, and of course in SA, I be known under my female name and gender... confusion reigns supreme he he.

Re: Joyce

I'm going to take some serious heat for this, but the order you list as correct seems backwards to me.

Therapist first--Am I really GID or are there other things in my head that cause me to believe that I am?
Hormones next--Diagnosis is complete, now to initiate treatment.
RLE next for a year--Trial period of living as a woman to see if you can really make it in society as a woman.  Can you get and hold a job?  Can you support yourself and have friends, a place to live and a decent social life?
GCS (or SRS, as some would call it).   Make yourself whole.   Be able to join a health club and shower with other women.  Go swimming in a pool and lay out in the sun with no apprehension.

Hormones take years to alter your appearance.  It's a mistake to get BA too soon, as it takes time for them to develop and you don't want development after augmentation.

The real deal is that GCS changes your brain and, in many cases, eliminates the gender dysphoria.  At that point, you are a woman and really don't need anything else.   I just passed 2 years on hormones and the changes in the last few months have been stunning.   My hips and lower body have blossomed and my face is female now, too.

I believe that the first surgery should always be GCS and then let your body evolve on it's own from there, for it will change for years after that.   That does fix the dysphoria and that's the only reason you'd want the other surgeries anyway.

Most of being accepted as female is how your own brain works, anyway.   You no longer will have to fear "discovery" because you'll be a female and there's nothing to discover.

My plan is...

- Laser/IPL (in progress)
- FFS (in a year or so, I've only been on hormones for a little less than two months)

SRS is out of the question.  I'm not planning on having a majorly active sex life where I would need to remove the penis and testicles.  For me, my face and facial/body hair are FAR more important as that is what I and others see on a daily basis, both at work and in general life.

There isn't any correct way there is only the way you need to go for me.

1:Hormones
2:Electrolysis
3:Coming out
4:Full time

5???: SRS if the oppertunity ever becomes avalible.

I cut out superfluous actions, No therapy, No shrinks least none that I sought out I was sent to them. *shrug* Apart from here no support group. Trained my own voice.

My order is FFS, BA and then possibly SRS depending on passability after the first two.  I also dislike my bits but being perceived as female is very important to me.

But some of the luckier one's can get away with very little and won't need FFS or a boob job!

My plan is to go with SRS -> BA -> FFS. This is mostly influenced by government coverage, however I imagine that if I had to pay out-of-pocket, I might want a vagina a little more than a prettier face. It means I can have the sex life I want, some security... miscellaneous... Thank goodness for the BC government deciding how I should do things for me.

My dream is to get it all done at once.

       Reality is - Electrolysis
                        Therapy
                        HRT
                        Name Change
Live as a female (for 1 yr? for life)
                        FFS
                        SRS
                        BA

I have only accomplished the first three.  The FFS and SRS may flip flop.  I have no money for either so it doesn't matter right now.  The BA can wait.
