Quote from: mixie on January 05, 2012, 12:47:14 PMI've seen plenty of transwomen say that you can always tell. I take it as a projection of their own dysphoria. The same way that an anorexic will often criticize the weight of other women. There are plenty of cisgender women who knocked Christina Aguilera for gaining weight. Kelly Osbourne took the opportunity to slam her by saying "I was never that fat." Well you can see how it unfolds. A woman's worth is attached to her "to be looked at ness" value. Which perpetuates even to small children. Women who are not sucked into the idea that their measure of worth is dependent on how others view her, will not care as much about these issues as other women. Kelly slamming Christina is odd. You see that she also slammed her fiance's lover by saying negative things about transgender women. Clearly Kelly Osbourne has issues. People criticized her for her looks. I feel bad for her. But it's a cycle. If you believe what others say about you and let it get to you then you will suffer. One interesting thing about the way celebrities are picked apart in the press, I have actually seen Tori Spelling in person. She is absolutely gorgeous in person. I think the camera emphasizes her face in a strange way and makes her eyes look huge etc. In person she's stunning. She is someone who I think doesn't rag on other people and lets things bounce off her back. And I'm sure that if you didn't know who she was and someone said she's trans people would believe it.In fact in one of the threads on here there was a cisgender woman's picture put up an everyone starting saying she didn't pass. Funny. And I do agree that getting older helps. Partially because you have most likely achieved more in the real world and realize that very few of your long term accomplishments have anything to do with your looks. They might help you along but there are millions of gorgeous women in the world. You need to be a strong person at the end of the day.
