When news got out that Largo City Manager Steve Stanton intended to become a woman, some detractors said that he needed to go to church and find God.

On Thursday evening, he did.

He and his wife, Donna, attended an interfaith service held on his behalf at Unitarian Universalist Church of St. Petersburg. It was led by two transgender pastors. At least 200 people attended.
