I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but I thought this might be the right area to ask. I'm sorry if it's a dumb question.
I'm wondering if anyone could give some info based on their experiences with how the community is on being friendly? It seems there are many supportive people online, which is great. I just worry about what reality offline is like.
My problem is that offline I am not that good being social anymore, I have severe social anxieties and even in macho guy mode I can't help being freaked out around other people I don't know well. I usually hope it's just taken for shyness rather than fear.
This is bothering me because once I get to the point of seriously transitioning and having to come out to family and friends I will be very alone. I doubt transitioning and all it's baggage in society will help my anxieties for obvious reasons. I'm just wondering how easy or hard it is to find friends during it. I don't know if I can do it alone.
