Hi peeps,

Just after some advise reference self medicating MTF hormones, I know it's a big no no to some but I have been on NHS for a long long time now and with them being well understaffed who knows how much longer I will have to wait.

Thanks in advance,

Natalie

I would say that the estrogen you are being recommended might be a bit too much. My approach would be to introduce a little of it, take blood tests, and tailor the hormones for your body. Your levels need to be right - the amount of hormones taken to get to that point is irrelevant. The Spiro looks more or less right... though the Vancouver group uses a higher maximum.

If you can't do tests, then you shouldn't self-medicate. Testing takes a lot of the danger out of it with a cautious approach... however, there is, of course, always the possibility that the medication that you're buying isn't actually Estrogen and Spironolactone.

I would find a safer and likely cheaper way to get the hormones myself, if I had to self-medicate.

I think the Moderators will not be too happy to see those links, unfortunately.

And, you will probably never recieve any proper answer on your actual questions either, only a bunch of fingerwavings and horrorstories about selfmedicating ->-bleeped-<-s ending up in wheelchairs or dying while stripping and stuff.

Posting links to online pharmacies that fill HRT without a prescription is against the site rules, as is listing recommended doses.

Susan's is agaisn't "Self Medication" and will not promote it.
