So, if anyone reads my posts, they know by now that my friends are pretty accepting.

My best friend for 11 years is supportive as well, but never got the pronouns right, and told me when I first started transitioning that she was probably always going to refer to me as my birth name and "she" just because it was difficult for her to change it. However, yesterday another friend was in my room on my computer, when I noticed her talking to my best friend for 11 years(she and my best friend have just met this year, and we're all attending the same university now. However, the two of them don't really get along). I wasn't reading the conversation, but I asked what they were talking about since I was confused as to WHY they were talking.

Surprise surprise, they were talking about me. I was allowed to read the conversation, and my day immediately got better. The proper pronouns were being used by BOTH individuals, as well as Hayden(which is my name, btw). I couldn't believe that my best friend was using the proper pronouns, because she had never done so before and even while talking to someone else; which immediately makes it better.  I know some people use the proper pronouns to my face, but I wonder if they still use them when in conversation with someone else. The fact that I had never heard her use the correct ones to my face ( she hasn't had to use pronouns for a while though, since it's usually just us talking to eachother) and her use them while talking to someone ELSE was just a day winner. I was completely surprised.

I was wondering if any of you had similar situations happen, and if you guys also wondered what people referred to you as in other people's company?

That's fantastic!  What a great feeling.  I live around people who have always known me as a man and most of the people who have known me since before I started transition live on the other side of the world and don't know.  It will be interesting to see how my family adapts, although to be honest it doesn't bother me if they use the wrong pronouns - just as long as they get my name right.
