Hi

I would like to ask for your opinions on my HRT results so far?

I have been on Hormones for 3.5 months now and have noticed the following changes

Physical -
- Fully developed nipples and areola plus a fair bit of breast tissue.  It wont be long before I need a bra ;D
- Loss of body mass from around by middle and my rib cage.  Obvious contours at my waist line which has appeared to have risen to under my rib cage.
- rounding out of my buttocks including "orange peel" appearance to the underside.
- softning of my skin
- lighter skin tone
- less greasy skin on my face.
- better condition of hair on my head
- hair on arms and legs just beginning to grow back slower after epilation or shaving
- no change as yet to chest  hair
- weight distribution to face has changed slightly from under the chin/jaw to cheek area but only slightly.
- genitals appear smaller  - penis is certainly thinner looking and feeling. - less ejaculation
- reduced sex drive but can still perform when necessary
- zero spontaneous erections but still the occasional morning "wood"

Emotional
- generally i feel so much happier in myself
- I do get very tearful and seem less able to deal with pressure at home and work
- I  am more thoughtful
- I am more polite
- Emotions seem more "raw" like the edges have been sharpened.
- I laugh more
- I cry more

Side effects -
- I feel so cold in the evenings and when i am outside.
- I always feel hungry
- I usually flake out by 7pm
- I love sleeping
- i feel a bit nauseas some mornings
- I have headaches more often.

There you have it.  I am 36, 5 ft 10, and 11 stone 10lbs.

My measurements pre HRT were
42-35-36

Now they are
38-32-38

My Hormone levels pre HRT were E - 110  T - 15
after 2 months they were E - 245 T - 4

My estradiol was increased after 2 months to a full dose.  Emotions and physical changes peaked for a few weeks after dose increase but have now evened out.

How does it sound?

Thanks
Jenna

Jenna you are beautiful. Your overall your doing okay. The E count has a way to go. You did not list what HRT you take. At this point you should not have erections unless you work at it. Good progress so far
Today is the first day of the rest of your life

Thanks for your reply Dale . I should own up. The pic in my avatar is me yes, but quite a few years ago when I was 18. I am a " re- transitioner" attepting it again in my 30's ( long story).
My goal is to be a thirty-something version of my former self. That will make me soooooo happy!
I know my E levels were low at 2 months but should they have been in the 400's so early on? I am hoping my blood test next month shows things moving in the right direction.
I have not posted my HRT regimen as I was afraid of having the post deleted.  I am on patches though and I like them apart from the ring of glue they leave behind. I have to wear 2 patches that I change every 3 days.
One question I do have is , is it normal to feel the cold more after starting hormones as I am always cold.?

Yes I feel the cold a lot more too.  It's been a relatively mild winter here and I'm really hoping it doesn't start snowing!

I have no idea why though, so I felt compelled to google it.  My first result seems to have some logic to it - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080807074317AAKgOqi  The less clothes argument is probably true ;D

Laura, that was an interesting article, i feel it must have something to do with loss of muscle mass.

I have updated my avatar pic now.  i took this photo earlier in the week.  Boy mode while I was at work. I will try to get a girl one done soon.  I will update the pic as i progress.

8. The discussion of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and it's medications are permitted, with the following limitations:

    A. Advocating for or against a specific medication or combinations of medications for personal gain is strictly prohibited.
    B. Discussing the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription, and self medication without a doctors care is prohibited.
    C. Discussing dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.

We can not in good conscience condone the self administering of these medications. Not only may self medication be illegal, but HRT medications can cause serious health problems, and many have the potential for life-threatening side effects that can only be detected and prevented with proper medical supervision.

Hi Jenna, I know it  can be intimidating, so I thought I would repost TOS #8 which specifically deals with discussion of HRT  in the forums.

An example would be of posting that one takes X # of milligrams of this drug and X number of that drug, or that one can go to XYZ Pharmacy Online and obtain HRT medications without a script. If ever in any doubt please PM one of the Global Moderators or Forum Admin.
