So I've been on Spiro only for about three months. I'm just now getting to see a therapist so I should be starting real estro withn a month. However I have started to take flaxseed oil, which is a well know natural estrogen. Mannnn it is making me so emotional! Is it wrong that I am loving this? I mean I could cry hard before anything, then when I went on Spiro more made me cry. Now this.. I can cry on the drop of a dime hehe

Nope. Nothing wrong with being happy to cry. I find it to be a blessing. ^_^

Where did you get some flaxseed oil from? What form is the oil in are you taking daily shots or taking a pill? How much does it normally cost?

Tyler

Flaxseed oil pills, They are found in the vitamin section! :) Don't take them if you are on Estrogen already, as it can interfer with that.

I am sssssoooo happy. I got started on Estro (real) a few days ago. Told parents few weeks ago that I was going to do this and then told them after I did start and they acted like they were totally shocked that I had actually started my transition and gone on Estro. So far no changes have not had any side effects but just waiting until things start changing for me. So totally excited. Good luck with your oil seed and hope that helps you in your future.

Awesome for you Lindsey! I can't wait for real Estro! ;)

Really, I'm interested.  How?

Thanks in advance

From my reading,i surmise that plant estrogens will basically bind with the receptors in your body cells, therefore the human estrogens will not be able to bind, cos the 'parking' space is full.
Same thing with testosterone vs estrogen, they compete.

I just picked some up from the local market. Organic they say, good cause I'm getting ready to go on HRT and pump my body full of processed things.

What if any changes should I expect pre-hrt?

Does anyone have any links to some good information?

I don't want to cloud anybody's picture, but I've been eating large amounts of ground flaxseed for years. I'm mostly vegan, so I try to add flax to any meal that doesn't contain beans, nuts, soy, etc. I also use flax as an egg substitute in some recipes (depending on what the egg is supposed to do). It may very well have feminized me a bit, idk. It's not something I'd know how to begin guessing about.

Yea, I bet the effects are minimal if at all

However! It's a nice placebo for those of us who are still pre-hrt!

It's a pretty common stereotype that vegan men who consume large amounts of soy are fairly effeminate looking/acting. Whether this is just because men who choose to be vegan are more compassionate by nature, or whether the food had some effect on them I had no idea.

Of course, being a vegan biological male the effeminate stereotype fits me to a t. Except, I'm trans so I'm not exactly a reliable data point.

I think that men who decide to be vegan are more compassionate types by nature. Phytoestrogens probably have an effect, but one that goes along fine with who they already are, so it's hard to tell what comes from what. I've been vegan(ish) for 15 years, and I am much skinnier, paler, softer-skinned, and generally girlier than any of my blood relatives I've met, including the females.

OK... Thanks. Only thing I could see in the notes of my Progynova was not to take liver cleanses containing St Johns Wort.
Noted though.

The amount of oestrogen in natural products is so low that the only effect you get is that of a placebo. They use to sell bread here advertising that they have phytohormones present which would reduce aging and improve cardiac survival. They had to take the adverts off as guys thought they would be having a sex change
