Girl Scout's Cookie Boycott: Buck Angel, Transgender Former Scout, Rebukes Taylor's YouTube Plea (VIDEO)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/12/girl-scouts-cookie-boycott-transgender-rebuttal_n_1202828.html

A California-based Girl Scout's planned cookie sale boycott following her organization's decision to accept transgender youth into its troops has sparked furor from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates as well as numerous other groups.

One former scout, however, who happens to be transgender is now speaking out in favor of Girl Scouts' all-encompassing policy. "When I was growing up, I was a Girl Scout," Buck Angel says in the clip. "I was born as a girl, but I always knew I was a guy...they accepted me into the Girl Scout troop and everyone was loving and giving and it was never an issue."

Girl Scout Video: What Were Her Parents Thinking?

I shall be buying extra Girl Scout Cookies this year. How about you?

Watching the smug video of a Girl Scout from California as she went viral yesterday asking us to boycott those cookies as a protest against -- gasp -- the policy that allows troops to include transgender children who live as girls, all I could think was "what were her parents thinking?"

For those who missed the video, it can be seen here:

I think that link's bad too now. It's jumping me to YouTube.com for some reason, no error msg. Does anyone know if the video can be viewed anywhere right now?

The link in question is now closed, presumably by the one who owns the YouTube page.

It would seem that, having been caught in a rather obvious scam, involving waving her daughter infront of a camera to emphasise a bunch of utterly specious claims, by one Susan Riedley, the editor of HonestGirlScouts.com

I understand it has been posted by others on YouTube, but sadly, I can't say where.

These are some excellent rebutals! On the fly.... not prepared. Thanks Tammy for posting them.

Thank you. I was able to find a version that's watchable. It was linked from another thread here.

According to some replies on a youtube re-play video which was captured before the original was made private, the girl is in face the daughter of "Honest Girl Scouts" founder Susan Riedley.

so basically the girls a puppet. And her mom hung her out there to make her the face who would feel the backlash.

In years to come this girl will be so embarrassed about the whole thing. Her mum should be ashamed of herself.  >:(

Santorum dodges the issue:

Doesn't Santorum ooze by issues? Inquiring minds want to know!

Good for Santorum!  Politicians tend to do more harm than good when dealing with private organizations especially with good intentions!  It is best for politicians to stay out of this.  This is a GSA item.
