Beau, Patrick Toohey proved to be a very good Psych and did not delay my referral to Jon Hayes the endo.  In fact I found the sessions very useful and had a further 3 sessions at my request post referral.  However chemistry is important so if you meet Toohey and it is unsatisfactory move on to an alternate Psych.  Best wishes.

I saw Patrick Toohey 3 and half years ago and i found he was great. we was quick (he passed me for HRT after seeing him for just a bit over 2 months about 4 to 5 visits from memory), efficient and polite. i saw him when i was 22 years old FTM (confused, very angry and sad)
I had such a great relationship with him i have recommended him to many others. i would have even called him my friend. i truly think hes a brilliant man.I'm not sure how old you were when you saw him but as i said i was just 22 so i disagree with your age bracket comment.

I understand you didn't enjoy your experience.
In the long run hes qualified and the rest is your personally experience, and that's it everyone's opinion is different.

For future reference to anyone that has or will been refereed to him. I believe he was fantastic, all you can do is see for yourself and see if hes for you.

I spent a fair bit of time looking into therapist in Sydney, so I'll add to this a bit

This is about "Dr Tracie O'Keefe", and make sure you read it if you're considering her.

I've heard from a number of people that Dr Scott of Neutral Bay is a very good psych. The stories about Dr Toohey are very mixed, and I can only guess it depends on how you get on with him (or vice versa). I avoided him because of what I'd read.
