Saw the film this past weekend.
Reasonably good, humorous at times, poignant at times.

Thomas Horn, as Oskar Schell, the higher-functioning autistic child who lost his father on 9-11, does a wondeful job.

Kudos too, to Max von Sydow, in what must be the most unique role in his long career.

Solid 8 on as 10 scale rating

The father and mother roles are played by Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, respectively.

I saw earlier today that Max von Sydow was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Well, Max von Sydow lost out to Christopher Plummer, who, at 82 years of age, becomes the oldest actor to win for a performance.  (I will always think of him as Capt. von Trapp!)

I have a couple of films now I will have to soon see.  Beginners and The Artist.

I know you probably don't dig npr, but they did what I thought was a pretty enjoyable interview with Christopher Plummer awhile back - http://www.npr.org/2011/06/03/136923439/christopher-plummer-after-81-years-a-beginner

I don't think I'll ever see any of those movies, but I like to hear about them.

I thought this was good at best.
The plot was good and the actors were phenomenal. The execution lacked a little bit for me though.
I still recommend it though.
