Did anyone notice their skin tone lightening while on estrogen?
I remember first looking into the mirror a couple months ago and unsure if it was just the lighting or if my skin was getting lighter.
but now that its been 6 months I'm for sure it has.

Anyone else experience this? And is it normal? o.O

Since my E dose got ramped up recently, I've started noticing pale patches on my arms and belly, which my girlfriend says are like what she had when she was pregnant. I'm curious, because my mum had vitiligo, which is patches of skin that lose their pigment completely.

Well I'm like a beige, and I think it has gotten a tad bit brighter.
Looking at my pictures from then and now.

I have no personal experience on this topic but a thought occurred to me that I thought I'd bring up. Assuming it's not a major change for everyone of course, then my theory is void anyways lol.

Those that notice a change, could it relate to being out in the sun less maybe? Like do you go out as much as before starting it? Just wondering because I've read a lot how people when worrying about passing tend to not try going in public overly much to avoid dealing with people. Wasn't sure if that might add at least to the lightness, not saying the only reason. Just a thought.

Men are known to have a slightly "darker" appearance to their skin, so perhaps this has something to do with it.
I dunno.

I go out just as much today as I did 5 months ago. My theory is, since the pores in the skin tend to close up with estrogen, more light is reflected, thus making the skin shinier and appear lighter in tone.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that men and women have a different colour hue as well in their facial skin which is effected by hormones.

Well there goes my theory. :P

That's interesting though, I've been pretty fascinated lately with the whole T vs E in people topic. Have a few questions of my own having to do with the changes, but going to look them up before posting a thread on them. Hate being that person that doesn't use the search function lol

Your skin thins on estrogen, which can make it look lighter depending on what you start with. For me it has just given my skin a bluish tinge (from the veins being close to the surface) 'cause I was already corpse-white.

Well I personally like being lighter, I wish I was like pale white, that'd be intense! >: o

I use Opal Shade for everything.
Not my shade, since it is like white, but I am into the whole victorian scene.
