I finally found my voice and talked to my mom about my transistion and I have never felt better!! She suprised me when she said that she has always known and has been waiting for the conversation for a very long time now, then again I've been dressing as a guy ever since I can remember. She said that she loves me no matter what and wants me to be happy, that she wants me to be comfortable in my own skin. And that I will have her full support through out the entire transistion even to the point of going to a therapy session with me. I cannot express how good it felt to hear those words from her, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted :), because my mom is happy to have a son.

Congrats, I'm happy your Mom is accepting. Not to be a debbie downer, but watch out if she changes opinions any step of the way, it can happen, and it happened to me.

Great news Jacob.  As a parent who acquired a son the same way ( who needs a normal family? )  I think your mother is a wonderful woman. Please let her know I said so.

Watching one of your children struggling with something they can't explain is an awful situation, and the relief when the cause is found is immense.  How any parent could not be supportive is beyond me.  I say forget what relatives, friends, Church or community think, family should stand by each other whatever happens.

This is another thing that can go in the "what made you happy" thread.

Thank you :) I feel so much better and my relationship with my mom is just getting stronger since we have talked. I just hope her support doesn't change during my journey. I'm just one extremely happy guy :)
