Honestly, pretty much all trans-representations on mainstream television make me shudder. Only time anything like this will interest me ever is when they start placing trans actors into trans roles so that we can perhaps get some semblance of accurate representation for once.

I agree with this. I've never seen a trans character on a TV show who was played by a cis person (and they all are) who I was even slightly comfortable with the way they portrayed the situation.

In fact, one of the only films I think even comes close to cutting it is 'Normal', a 2003 film about a mid-life MtF woman who transitions in a rural community.
