I have just applied for a part time job.  As with most job applications, they ask for two references.  One will be my Doctor and that is fine as she is helping me transition.  The other is my previous employer.   These are people who treated me very badly and I had to take them to court for unfair dismissal.  They did not know about my gender status and I don't want them to know.  Do I write to the new company explaining the issue or only give one reference.
