SOMERS — Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender high schoolers are often ridiculed by other students who throw around anti-gay slurs and sometimes fists at area high schools.

"People are taunted in the hallways," said Horlick High School junior Nielah Hayes, 16. "People are getting hit actually and just abused by people's words."
