997 for smaller chested guys?

So I've been looking at binders recently... I've been using LoveBoat binders but I need something a bit more inexpensive. I really want one for working out. My chest is on the smaller side, but I unfortunately can't go walking about without a binder and have nothing show. I was interested in the 997 because it looks like something that would bind reasonably well while still allowing me to move about and work out and stuff. I kind of need it for "lazy" days where I hate binding and want to still feel secure and like I can go outside. And I mainly need it for working out. (I did have another one I bought for that purpose from LLB, but ended up not liking it too much and gave it away to a friend. I think it was too small for me).

I've heard the 997 rolls up. But on their site it says it is longer now, so maybe that has changed. Also, I am slightly worried that I might feel claustrophobic in such a long binder. Has anyone had this issue?

Also, how good is the ventilation with underworks binders? The back being made of thinner material seems like it would do a good job at keeping you from having an itchy sweaty feeling.

According to the size chart for the 997 at Underworks my size is a 32.5 (34 and 31) so I would get a size S. It's right on the bottom size, but I guess that seems like a good idea to me, because that way I know it won't be too tight (and I might get bigger in the chest area on T).

Essentially the question here is does the 997 work well as a non-restrictive binder for smaller chested guys? Can you take deep breaths in it and do parkour and leap off tall buildings like Batman and fly?

I find that I'm lots more likely to wear the tritop on lazy days than the 997, even though the 997 is a lot stretchier and easier to breathe in. The length is kind of annoying, and I don't like that it shows when my shirt rides up at all.

Neither of mine actually fit me at the moment, though, and I'm not actually sure if I got my 997 before or after they changed the length.

Hmm, unfortunately on the site it doesn't have the date they changed it. It does say it is 4 inches longer though, which seems like a nice addition if what you had gotten was before they made the change. It does seem like Underworks is good with customer service, so if I had an issue with the 997 and felt the tri-top would work better I could exchange it. At least it isn't like Loveboat where you can't exchange for a different binder model (I was lucky in being happy with what I did get).

What you said about wearing the shirt over the 997 brings another question to mind. Do you think that you could walk around your house with just the 997 on and no shirt over it? Or perhaps with just something like a wife-beater on top? I think that would be the main scenario where I would wear it, otherwise I get what you mean about how it would be annoying with other clothes on. If it was in black I personally would feel the most comfortable doing that, but curious to see what you thought.

I saw on another thread that you mentioned you ended up with pleurisy from how small your binders got on you. That is awful, I hope you are able to get one that fits soon!

I couldn't walk around the house with just the 997 I had because it was a little too see-through. It might be different if it were the black instead of white one. If I switched to pajamas but wasn't going straight to bed I would wear the 997 under just a t-shirt.

Since starting T I've had skin problems if I don't wear a shirt under my binder. I'm not sure what's going on with that, but it has had the neat side effect of keeping the binder from rolling up as much.

If it's longer now than what I had, maybe it solves the rolling up issue, which is something I find really distracting. It does let more air get to your skin than the tritop, and it's stretchier so you can breathe deeper more easily. I don't like it for lollygagging around the house, but it's what I prefer when working out.

Hmm yeah I'll have to go with the black one then, it seems like that would stop the see-through problem. Plus white makes me look too pasty and like I'm in a hospital, haha.

Ah, yeah, I've heard of people getting breakouts on their backs after starting T because of the binders. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I'll not be too surprised if it does. At least it doesn't roll up so much!

Thank you very much for the help, Felix! :)
