Menopause supps--my experience

Before my transition I had tried resetting my male hormones by using a (prescribed) testosterone patch...gawd that was awful! Not only was it like a poison, I felt my "feminine" side fading away; what was left was just despair and suicidal thoughts.

That was not good, so I stopped the T after one day.

A few months ago I read somewhere (on Susan's, iirc) that before one gets on HRT, if you take menopausal supplements (like from a drugstore), they can take the "edge" off the maleness.

So I bought some. In the store, the brands seemed all have two variants: regular and extra strength. Being me, I went for the XS.   :-*

It's been about 4-5 months now, I've taken 2 per day (as per instructions). I have noticed softening of the skin (how much is the supps, and how much is the daily hand lotion...? I don't know) I have tried to stop taking the supps, just to see if any effects went away, but my anxiety level doesn't allow it.

A few weeks ago I decided to up the dosage to 3 per day (2 in the AM, 1 in the PM). Since then, I have been completely in my "female" mind now, even the memory of my maleness is in the far distance. My "guy parts" are almost invisible to me, in terms of being aware of them. Also I've been much more open about transitioning lately, much more accepting of it. Even looking ahead to the surgery, whereas before I was ambivalent.

My arm hairs used to have to be shaved every weekend, but now I can go 3 weeks before needing it. Chest also used to be every week, now is every 2 weeks.

My eyesight for close up things has gotten worse since going to 3/day. I use reading glasses (have for about 2 years now), but I've noticed the focal distance has been getting farther away. Far distance is still quite good.

My bra band size is 47, my measurement around the nips is 48...so I like to think I'm an "A" cup already... :D (Well, maybe a barely A cup... ;) ) (Before, they were both 48)

Of course, menopause supplements are plant-based "phytoestrogens", and are far less potent than actual HRT, but it is most certainly in the direction I want to go. I'm on the final session prior to getting The Letter, and hopefully by early March I'll be on my way.

I'm curious to see if others had any effects while on menopause supplements, prior to HRT. Or no effects? What was your experience?

Another supp I use daily is red clover extract...mixed in with a couple dashes of lotion, rubbed on the breasts (circular motion--from the top, towards the center chest, under and out towards the arms, round and round working outward from the nipples). Really relaxes me and gets me in a happy mood for the day (I do this after showering in the morning).

Is FG and PM a pill supp, liquid, or...?

Honey, I tried it all early during my transition.

It did prevent me from climbing the walls! It did me some good no question.
But only as far as mood is concerned. No feminization, maybe a bit softer skin, and a little more sensitive nipples. No breast growth really.

So it was very good to have it before proper HRT. So much better then nothing! The Soya based expensive 'extra' strong stuff was the best, Black Cohosh and some of the goodies did nothing much good for me, as I can recall.
It was fine but only for about ~ 3 month when I started with BCs and then Premarin and on to Estrofem / EstroPause. Now patches.
