Hi guys

Just wondering if any of you fellow British lads on here are into rugby, and if so if you know of any gay- and/or trans-friendly rugby training places? (I live in North Wales.) I've always been a huge rugby fan but never played, but once I start T (hopefully this summer) I'd love to have a go. I'd just prefer to go to a place I know I'd be safe and wouldn't have to worry if my chest was a bit obvious.

ah North Wales, I'd love to visit there. Only been to South Wales :(

As for the Q, sorry, I'm more of a football watching guy! (I wouldn't mind playing rugby though) Try asking your support group if you have one or emailing a few to ask if they know of anywhere.

I trained for a while with a Ladies team (I'm not out at school and a lot of pupils train there as well, with both the men and women).  I've had to stop now simply for logistical reasons of getting there, but I assumed that I wouldn't be able to play rugby again at all once I was post-T because I'd not be able to play with the Ladies team, but it would be too dangerous to play against men in a Mans team while being FAAB.  This might not be a problem for you, but for me at 5"1' and under 8st playing against women my size puts me at a weaker position than them dispite being stronger than a fair few of them.  Then again, it might not be a problem in any less serious clubs.

I'm from East Anglia, the other side of the country, so I can't really help you on which clubs, sorry.

(BTW, good luck for Wales first match in the 6 nations tomorrow.)

Thanks lads  :) I've been talking to a couple of other lads online and it seems like there is a good gay team in Manchester, so once I get on T I might go along to that. I'm only 5'3" but I'm in the process of bulking up so I hope with T I might be able to get to about 11 stone and have a chance of being a scrum half or even a little winger like Shane Williams!

Im not from your area, so all I can suggest is you have a nosey and ask around locally.
I would love to get into rugby, but always feel like Im too small :p Its no excuse though is it really? Anyone can play :p
I played last year just with some friends and even though I was small, I was one of the fastest :p

Good luck!

And HarryP Im only 5'3" too. I weigh around 9st 4, and am in the process of trying to bulk up :p

More of a League fan, but at 5'3" you would be about the same size as George Gregan, and there's nothing wrong with that!

I'd love to have my go at rugby but unfortunally there aren't many clubs here in the Netherlands. Though I might just join one after bulking up on muscle and confidence.

And Harry, congrats on the victory last weekend, that was a great kick under a lot of stress by Halfpenny! Though my boyfriend couldn't believe his eyes (he cheers for Ireland ;))
