Hi everyone. I stumbled across this forum a week or so ago, and after some lurking, decided that it's a great community and that it's time to join. And now it's time to introduce myself.

I'm 29 and starting my MtF journey. I've put this off long enough, and it's time to do something about it. It comes at an awkward time in my life, but that's what everyone says -- and it's no excuse. I'm finishing my PhD this month, and I'm trying to get a faculty position -- which is why it's a particularly awkward time to start the path to transition without steady long-term employment (right now I just pick up teaching on a term-by-term and course-by-course basis, which is typical).

So I just wanted to say "Hi" and I look forward to some good conversations and possibly friendships.

Hi Rachl, welcome to Susans! We're glad you stumbled in. I live near Boston. There seem to be representatives from everywhere on the site, and by everywhere I mean Australia. You'll see! Hugs, Devlyn

Hi :). I'm currently in Southwestern Ontario (Canada), about an hour away from Toronto. I'm originally from BC :). However, as is common in my field, you go where you get a position, so it's likely that I'll be somewhere else within the next year or two (I hope, because moving means I found a position). Most of the positions are actually in the US, so there's a decent chance I'll end up in the States, though I would love to stay in Canada.

Hi Rachl,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's As Devlyn eluded to, it looks like I'm the first of the Aussie contingent to welcome you.

Good to hear you like the place. We are all family here. So much so, we've adopted Devlyn as a fair dinkum  Aussie.

Seems like you have chosen a good time and place to start your journey, there is lots of info and resources here for you to get your teeth into. Fell free to ask whatever's on your mind. Hope to hear more of you in the coming months. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Good grief Devlyn. Leave that dashed thing alone. (A) You don't know where it's been and (B) It may be loaded and go off.

And what's the inside story on this bacon thing? It's has me by the short and curlies (if there were any left.) Well in the words of a famous Aussie ex Politician (Ms. Hanson) "More information please?

Finally apologies to the OP for hijacking your thread. All stations, please resume your normal introductions please.

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs

Fair Dinkum, Devlyn's got the wrong end of a raw prawn, need to give her a coldie from the slab and settle her down with a Bex.

Might have to revoke Hon citizenship

Sorry Girls.

I do love you

Cindy, sorry Rachl it was Devlyn's fault us Aussies are just too polite. Next thing we know she'll want Vegimite on her spotted dick, and that is something to contemplate with dread.
