Yesterday I read the genderbread thread and sent the poster to my wife (on her phone). She has had a hard time understanding the idea of transgender so I thought that might help clear things up. She didn't reply about it all day so I asked her about it when I got home. She said it "made me feel really arkward. You ruined gingerbread for me forever. Now ill always think about genderqueer when I see it." I got prety  pissed and walked out of the room. I later told her that I really bothered me how she acts about this type of thing but she doesn't think she said anything wrong. I guess my question is am I overreacting or should I be pissed? We joke around about my gender id issues sometimes but I think she crossed a line...and I don't think she was joking. How would anyone else in my position handle this?

I may be completely wrong here, but I've noticed that some people, rather than face up to something they find uncomfortable, they try to hide it behind suppose ignorance.

That circumstantiality with the diagram is typical. If she's been shown a cake, she would be put off cake. If she's been shown a chocolate bar, she'd have been put off chocolate.

The point is, the issue isn't gingerbread, cake chocolate, it's simply using something to represent something else.

As I said, might be wrong, but from the sound of it, I don't think I am
