Hey everyone, I'm back again lol. So I have a question about vaginal depth. so here's my problem. When I insert the dialater in the 2 white circles go inside my vagina and the 3 remaining circles stay out and can be visible shown.  now when I measure that it's 4 1'2 inches BUT!! If I measured the back of the stick/Dialator it's not even with the front.  I'm sorry if this is a dumb question lol but to me it seems like I get more inside in the front then in the back of the stick so am at 4 1'2 inches or is it less then that? I'm really confused.

The inside of the curve is shorter than the outside of the curve.  I had been measuring my depth with the inside of the curve, as that is where the dots are located.  But a phone call to Meltzer's office cleared up that misunderstanding.  They told me actually that depth is measured on the outside of the curve.  And so I ended up having more depth than I thought I did, which was a big relief.

Thank you so much for answering my question :-).  Oh :-( That means my depth isn't what I thought it was then if you don't measure where the dots are.

Dots?   Circles?  Duh - my dilators (U.K.) are clear perspex with no markings....... I just measure from the tip to where the lub smear from insertion is
To those who understand, I extend my hand
To the doubtful I demand, take me as I am
Not under your command, I know where I stand
I won't change to fix your plan, Take me as I am (Dreamtheatre - As I Am)
I started out with nothing..... and I still have most of it left.

Thats what I do Steffi. I've been measuring it where the lube stops at.. But I get more lube on dots/circle side and the 2 dots go inside of my vagina. But the side where there isn't any dots i don't get much in but i do get some inside. It's confusing, My surgeon didn't teach me how to use these colorful ones, He showed me how to use these white smaller dialators that are straight and don't have a curve to em.

Tinkerbell, I know what you mean.  If I insert the dilator and then see how far the lube goes, I can see that the outside of the curve has an inch less than the inside of the curve (where the dots are).  But essentially, what I was told is that you use the dots to measure the depth.  They range from 4 inches to 6 inches at 1/2 increments.  And the measurement is taken where the dot is, not the other side.  But if you were to get a tape measure and then measure the length to that dot, you have to use the outside of the curve.  I know, its confusing.  They had to repeat it to me twice to explain.  So for instance, with my dilator, it goes in to the third dot.  I use a mirror and see visually the dot disappearing inside.  The third dot is supposed to be 5 inches.  I previously thought it was 4 to 4 1/2 inches because I measured the length along the same curve as the dots.  But they told me to measure on the outside of the curve.  My dilators are transparent, so I can see where the dot is on the other side.  And if I measure to that dot on the outside of the curve, it is indeed 5 inches!

Now all of this pertains only to my dilators and my own surgeon's advice.  Your dilators might involve a different situation.  You might want to see if the manufacturer has any advice on this.

Okay I get it :-). mines goes right to the 3rd dot. Like the 3rd dot is almost going inside it's like touching it.  But, I get it now, I was measuring the other side without the dots which seems to be less then the dot side and I thought that I had less then I have. THANK YOU!!, I get it now lol.
