I had a nice date planned out with checking out the changing trees, having a picnic, and watching the stars, but my gf got sick. :(
Instead the day went to watching Doctor Who and eating Thai food with my brother.  Still fun, but not exactly the romantic day off I had hoped for.
Oh I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love

A blah blog

Been out for lunch, watched the original Total Recall and wondered why the 'what are you thinking' thread is locked.

Once any of these "go on forever" topics gets beyond a certain size, loading them makes a huge hit on the server, so we lock 'em and you can start a new one if you want, that's absolutely fine :).

I have also considered making the new "what are you thinking?" thread since no one else is, but somehow it feels indulgent.

Make it! make it! pleeease  since im too shy even online >.<

Made pickles
I haven't made pickles in years but my roommate never lets me forget the time I looked at the cucumbers in the neighbor's planter and said 'oh cool they've got a pickle tree' in complete seriousness. I caught myself after i said it but it made me realize what a city mouse I am.

Today I did as little as possible. Hunkered down. There's a lot of violence next door and I think I did a pretty good job not taking my feelings about that out on my kid. Her violence is not the same. Also we had potstickers for lunch which was nice.

Making pickles is something I'd been wanting to do for quite a few years  :)   I lucked out and got a nice deal on a whole pickling kit and when a neighbor found out he gave me a bunch of cucumbers so I ended up making 10 pint jars and 9 quart jars of pickles after 3 rounds of pickling  :)   It was a lot of work but good fun and took my mind off of some other stresses of life for awhile

Today I got caught up on some house chores and started cleaning out the garden

Work but gives one a sense of satisfaction! I do both dill and sweet pickles every few years, can the tomatoes rather than see them go to waste because they all ripen at once.

Got to spend the whole day hanging out with a friend from out of town hearing about how the things that DONT make it into reality TV are waaaaayyyy worse than the stuff that does.  She works in TV in LA and has the most hilarious stories.  Lots of fun was had  ;D
