I'm in the middle of a huge apartment clean up. It feels a lot less overwhelming now that I've done a good chunk of it, but now I'm tired and taking a break. The problem with taking a break is that I might not start up again. :P

Just straightening my workshop... specifically - pulling nails from old wall studs that came out of a demolition.

Not much gets kicking around these parts until Sleeping Beauty (read as: S.O.) rouses...
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.

Lost my cool with some people from my daughter's treatment team and ranted about how uncomfortable I am coming out to the boondocks for appointments, how long the trip is and how thuggish and rednecky and unsidewalked the neighborhood is, and how there's nothing nearby that takes food stamps if Leah gets hungry, and no easy solution for getting back into town if my ankle locks up.

Also I did email and paper mail and paid bills and stuff.

So, I was meeting with a friend for dinner, and i decided to use the new shortcut to reach the restaurant, a new flight of stairs under a bridge that saves me from giving and incredible turn (about 10 minutes saved).

The problem is that that area is not iluminated at all, so I don't want to end rolling down on stairs again. I switch on my cellphone's flashlight...


And it is full of silent dudes sitting there in the darkness, not moving at all! (Ok, one of the was playing with a smartphone)


I moved as fas as I could without looking back they were starting to act weird when illuminated. As far as I know, thefts have been reported there. But C'mon, It's been 4 months since they opened it and not a single lamp there.

I've been using it for some time in summer when there was enough light, but with time it looks like undesirable people are coming there again. Probably the ones that were in the old route I had to take, after it was restored and illuminated.


I've been in seriously weird places and seen weird people when I used to do urban exploring (and in those times I used to go with the DSLR in one hand and a fist ready on the other), but that was years ago. I was far more stronger, heavier and alert. In my current state of body and mind I don't think I would be able to defend myself.

Went for a jog this morning with my puppy.  Fifth day in a row! 
Then I fixed a garment for a customer who'd brought it in for repair (self employed = no weekends) and now I'm going to make myself a new top for a friends gallery opening tonight :)

Watched Prometheus (again) with my fiancé because she hadn't seen it, played Mortal Kombat 2011 with her and made a 2012 art summary to see what the hell I've been spending my time on. :D
