That's one of the perks for us short people, we're closer to the ground and find a lot of lost change. I still pick up pennies and am amazed at the number of people that discard them in front of soda pop machines. One man's fruit is another man's candy!

Those vending machines can be heaven for "pickers".  Heck I found a lot of change behind the vending machine in my old high school.  If only I had saved that change -sighs-.

Didn't do anything today but yesterday I took the change I had wrapped up and converted it into paper money.

I dump all my pocket change in a large pickle jar and roll it later when the jar gets almost full. The bank tellers must love to see me coming lugging in all that metal. A pickle jar will get me $85 - $100 to go in savings, money that otherwise would just be pissed away on stupid stuff.

My cat broke my PS2 and I had enough change to buy a new one for over $100 but that was about 3 years ago.  I'd like to pour all of my change into one big savings but with the strict way I'm saving I can't.  Normally any change I get will be dumped into my main piggy bank but most the change I come into now goes into my surgery fund.  Because of that I only have a little over $7 in my main piggy bank and that comes from breaking change from my regular money.

Currently my savings are going into a small starbucks frap...thing. I think I'll need to upgrade jars. Except I have to take some out to get my hamster some food

I noticed the new medication I got put on this week by my dermatologist may actually be starting to clear my skin up...well, at least I think it is.

Hopefully, my facial hair will stop growing in so patchy after my skin stops being so rough and damaged. Also, I'll be able to shave a lot more often.

;D

Meow.

I got measured for a bra in Marks & Spencers, and thoughtlessly insulted twice in the process. It was more funny than painful, though: I'd already blown my trauma fuses just walking in there and saying "This is embarrassing, but I'm going through a gender transition and need some advice on bra sizes, please." The woman at the counter turned to her colleague and said "Can you help this gentleman?" ::) - and then they took me to a gents' changing room to fit me ::) ::) ::). I'm going to write a letter explaining why this is less than appropriate, in the hope that they get provided with some needed training. I don't read malice in this on their part, just thoughtlessness (it's the price I pay for preferring trousers). Oh, and I got some good advice and a bra out of the experience :).
Oh gosh Padma that sounds hard. Don't let them hurt you. When they do they don't mean to. You have to believe that whether it's true or not.

What I did today. Huh. I did nothing. That is a fabulous achievement. Yesterday I called the mental health agency and said that my daughter could go to emergency respite care or she could go to jail, but she wasn't staying in my home. It took some doing but I made sure she didn't get arrested and she didn't kill me either. Then I got trashed, as fast as I could. I wanted to give up. I might be getting evicted. She screamed a lot Saturday. They've warned us about that. I told her that I won't sleep outside for her, that if she gets us homeless then she's on her own, but I didn't mean it. I was just scared.

I'm not much less scared now, honestly. Nobody likes us, nobody wants us, and we have no safety net. Those parameters are open to a bit of interpretation but have always been in place. I don't know why they bother me more now than they used to. So what I've done today was I kept a handle on myself. I am a superhero.

Great to get a really properly fitting bra isn't it. :)  I got a couple myself last week from the specialist bra shop I use, since I have had a recent  increase in boobery.   If you become a regular customer they will lift their game, especially if you are dealing with the same staff each time.  Also having a noticeable bust will help  ;)

Washed the doggy and cleaned the spray valve on the spotbot so I can get up the doggy vomit in the hallway.  What a lovely thing to wake up to in the morning.    :eusa_sick:

Been there multiple times. Funny how they ignore the hardwood and tile floors and insist on doing a doggie loaf on an expensive carpet!

My but you have been busy, I bet it's going to be great! I enjoy doing that sort of thing, I took up canning my tomatoes a couple of years ago, did some sweet and some dill pickles too.

I got some stuff done. Finished all the documentation for this quarter's food stamps, including photocopies of my driver's license and court order so they'll change my name on my medicaid too. I hate being called my old name at the doctor's office, so this is big. I got my new bankcard and my hard copy driver's license in the mail today, and requested new checks, and got my name changed on my Trimet ID. I faxed my name change proof to PayPal. I negotiated my rent down with my building's new owners. Just for a month, but that's long enough for me to get out. I got my daughter's meds without punching the racist in line behind me when he was loudly making fun of the "jibber jabber" of the "habibs" in line ahead of me. I found out that if I switch my preference from 1 bedroom to studio, I can cut down my HUD waitlist time by a few years. I managed to not get trampled after bumbling into the Timber's opening game. That was madness. I got some stuff done and I got through the day. :)

I discovered that the Android version of Angry Birds is a bit easier than the iOS version.

Also, I managed to force our system to properly display images in an FAQ.

I allowed my interactions with my daughter to be videotaped and critiqued. That was interesting.
