So, the dress I've been drooling over for months now arrived and....
Its a bit snug. I can zip it up at the back though. Naturally, I wish I was bustier but that is beyond my control.

So, should I keep it and try to lose that weight? If so, any tips to loose it around the rib area?

Or should I send it back and get the next size up?

Honestly I don't know if hormones will help around that part of my body or not.

Please excuse my appearance, I sprang out of bed to get the mail when the bell rang.

If it's too tight I would send it back and get a bigger size if you can. But if you're in no rush then you could lose some weight and save the trouble of having to return the dress. I have several articles of clothing that do not fit me. I'm working on losing the weight to fit them, lol.

Hi Keaira,
For my money, I'd keep the dress, loose weight and use the dress as reward for being so clever. An Aussie diet that I have used and seen many others use successfully is based on 70% what you eat, 20% modest exercise and 10% workout exercise.

The diet bit mainly suggests you drop the carbs, sugars and Fats (of course) and go for proteins with plenty of vegs. I dropped 16kgs in 6 months, and I've kept it off. I'm now down to a size 12 in skirts and 14 in tops. VAST improvement from my 14/16 resp. 6 months ago.

The good thing is the way your dress fits at the moment, it won't take long at all for you to lose it. Nice dress.

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

What if it's not a question of weight? You can't diet your ribs away. I would send it back and get the next size up. Some girls really are bigger-boned. This way you can wear it now, enjoy it now, feel pretty in it now rather than putting it away for a day that may never come. If you do lose weight, there will be other dresses.

I spent the whole day thinking about it, and I am going to keep the dress. It's not tight enough that I cant zip it up, but it is pretty snug. I think I can lose a bit of belly fat. Enough to make the dress fit better. The one thing I cant control or do anything about however, is my breast size. and there's quite a bit of room for them in the dress. And I'm still a growing girl. And my wife wants one now too, for pretty much the same reason, weight loss motivation.

As for the Aussie diet, Catherine, I walk about 5 miles a day, just doing my job, lift about 17lb to change molds, so modest exercise probably isn't an issue. It's workout exercise and diet that are my problems. Luckily though, I love salads. And I just bought a multi-gym-type system to work out with.

Thank you for your thoughts everyone. ^_^

I suppose the question is  where  doesn't it fit, can you change that bit? Cute dress though.

I'm pretty sure its my belly that needs toned. here's a better picture. I had my wife take it 20 mins before I had to go to work on Friday. And she caught me as I was trying not to laugh.

I hope I'm not an A-cup forever. :P

If you really want to fit into it, you can get a waist training corset.
I have one, but I love corseting, and find it pretty comfortable.
Brings my waist (under the ribcage) from 32" to 27" I'm pretty small already though.

I'm not sure I would want a corset It's weight and muscle I need to lose. And grow bigger boobs.  I took more pictures though, mainly for my Sister, Azmaria since she wanted to see.

Anyway, it's loose up towards the armpits but tight around the belly area. I'm fairly sure losing weight here will help greatly. Right now though I have a poor body image anyway, so to me right now, I might as well be a guy in a dress.

I am trying to lose weight but I also realise that hormones are changing my body shape.  So for me it may well be a bit of both.

Very cuteness !!!! the dress is cute also ;) anywho I've said it before I'll say it again and I will keep saying it.

DIETS DON'T WORK!!!!!! it's a life style change that includes cardio, cardio, cardio.........

So what do I do? stop drinking sodas and if it's White Don't Bite WDB and 180 minutes a week of cardio.

Of course it's a lifestyle change that works.  Once people lose their weight they generally go back to their old lifestyle and eating habits.
I'm trying to eat healthier because its not really an exercise issue for me. When I cycled back and forth to work I actually gained weight. But I walk about 5 miles a day just doing my job, with resistance training (me pushing my toolbox around). It's my diet that isn't the greatest, so its probably a good idea to start there . I love soda's so that has to stop. I wish I could drink orange juice more than I can but more than a glass and I get an upset stomach. At work, on a busy night I can go though a bottle of large powerade easily. I don't particularly like powerade or any of those kinds of drinks but it stops my leg from cramping.

It almost sounds like you need to detox, the leg cramps could be a combination of things including the power aid that has tons of sugar in it. Your weight gain from cycling could be muscle is heavier then fat so as you gain muscle you will also gain weight, BUT look trimmer, I don't get on a scale, I do it like this, standing naked in front of a mirror, if I like what I see I keep doing what I'm doing, if not I make changes.......

I think weight / mass is a tiny part of the issue, but there is much more going on.

Basically, you aren't being conscious enough of what the clothing is made to show off and how it works with your own body.

A dress like that really highlights a persons shoulders / back / waist... all areas that are working against you. Personally, I also have large shoulders and stay FAR away from anything that is going to try and show that off.

I would loveee to rock a cute little dress, but my body simply isn't made for it. Instead, I go for slightly longer tunic style tops (to give my torso the illusion of being longer and thinner) and use vertical stripes (even on all my guys clothes) to help even more with that.

Finding a style that really works for you takes a tonnn of work and a critical eye. But it pays off eventually :D
