On every FTM forum I'm on, it seems like everyone experiences an increase in sex drive when starting T.  My question is - why do some guys NOT experience the libido boost if it is indeed T-related and not psychological?  I am on my 2nd month of T and have yet to find any difference in my libido.  Do the sex drive surges happen after being on T for a while?

I didn't really experience much change. In fact it didn't increase at all but did become more regulated and predictable. I had a pretty high libido before T though and I was actually concerned about going on T for that reason.
I think guys with lower libidos pre-T may notice more of a change.

You're only 2 months in and that is normal. I didn't notice any change in libido until like 8 months.

I didn't notice any physical or voice changes at all until 3 months.

Everyone reacts differently to T.

My sex drive increased but gradually, I was worried for a long time because for a lot of guys it's seems to happen very quickly and I was months in and didn't notice a difference. I thought something was wrong but eventually I started noticing mine had increased and was still increasing, I'm not sure why it happened that way though.

Thanks, guys.  Maybe because my drive was already pretty high I'm not noticing anything.  I guess time will tell!

Before and even after T, I have no libido at all - so I saw no difference.  Then again, I've never really had sexual thoughts, so I'm borderline (if not) asexual I think.  Not sure.  All in all, I may not be the best example, but everyone seems to be different.  A couple of my buddies had an instant change of libido, while others had a more gradual change.  I seem to be the only one I know who had no difference.  So don't worry!  You seem to be pretty normal.

I had a very high libido before T, and noticed a dramatic spike around 3-5 weeks in. T effects everyone differently though, so I think it really is just down to the individual. :)

I'm a bit over a week in on T and haven't noticed much of a change in my libido. My drive was probably on the lower end of the female spectrum beforehand and so far it hasn't really "elevated," if anything it is just a bit more regulated. I was also wondering if something was "wrong" because a lot of people seem to have noticed a significant change very early after starting T. But yeah, looking at these responses it is clear to me that everyone reacts differently. I wouldn't mind never getting a huge increase anyways because to me it would probably become quite a distraction, haha... And I have plenty of those.

I've been on T just over a year now and I'm still as sexually stunted as a doorknob. :) I'm afraid I couldn't even begin to imagine any scientific reasoning behind it, I guess some people are just wired differently? I wonder if a lot of it is psychological also. Many people, once starting T, begin to feel so much more comfortable in their bodies that maybe their subconscious confidence in sex/sexual expression increases as well?

... I swear that made sense in my head. Forgive me — no sleep make brain no work good

you shouldn't be so sad if you dont experience it that much.
My sex drive where one of the first thing I noticed, and it became a certain problem for a time cause I felt horny all the time, which was troublesome and I had to learn to get use to it so I wouldnt let it controll me.

its strange to explain how it changed, I where also a pervert Pre T, but I could go much longer without having a big need, or sexual stimulation, where im on T.
also Pre T I had no interest in porn as something sexual, I felt it where interesting as in a topic way but I didnt had interest in wathing it for sexual reasons. as I got T I can watch porn and get turned on pretty easly. I dont know why theres such a change?

ive been on t for 18months now, in addition i also take antidepressants, so they kinda cancel each other out. but before all the meds my sex drive was more or less "normal" i guess. now its nearly nothing.

I had a low sex drive pre-T and I have a low sex drive 10 months on T. If T made any difference, maybe there was a slight increase at one point, but right now I don't desire sex any more than I did before I started T.

I start T in about a month. I am thinking that I won't get any change because my drive is already really high.

Without T, I had no sex drive and was extremely modest.  Didn't like porn.  Sex was an added bonus/chore in relationships.  I was exactly the same while on Sustonen for 10 years with no change to my LOW/NON Existant sex drive.

NOW 17 months on Reandron it's the complete opposite.  I'm so highly driven, some days it's crazy!!  It's like all my sensory perception has gone to one place.  I used to go for years without even thinking about it.  Now it builds up and just keeps building if I do nothing about it.  And I can never calm it completely on my own.  It kicked in as soon as I started R and seemed to peek at about 6-8 months in and is now SLOWLY settling.

I don't hate it.  It's just something else about myself I'm discovering and learning how to handle.

I strongly believe that it depends on the TYPE of T due to my own experience.
