Hey everyone,

I'm an FTM that's been on hormones since May of 2011 -- that would make it 10 months -- ->-bleeped-<-, I haven't been keeping count.

One thing that I've found all over the internet are resources for MTF vocal training, albeit mostly for speech intonation, but I can't find anything for FTM vocal coaches.

Does anybody know of any in the New York Tri-State area?

I also haven't read a lot of encouraging posts online about FTM singing voices -- really only that people have lost their ability to sing after starting T. I have unfortunately lost my range to a significant degree which is devastating as I am a singer and musician. I deeply fear I have ruined my voice forever.

My voice was pretty low to begin with, and I don't have that often heard "raspy" voice that usually occurs in FTM's. My voice definitely sounds male, but my singing voice, even when I was female, still sounded male.

Anyway, I would love any feedback anyone has.

Thank you

I would contact the local collages and inquire if they have a speech therapy  school/clinic. Beyond that (none near me offered TG voice therapy) I just did internet search for every voice therapist near me and sent a blanket email explaining my situation and found a great coach.

I think seeing a singing coach that works a lot with teenage boys would probably be a good idea. I do know of one voice coach that focuses on speaking, and voice masculization.

Check out Christine Block. She's a speech language pathologist, open to all genders (including folks that don't identify as men or women). This would be with the intentions of singing, but vocal health and making a deeper, more male sounding voice.
