upset with uni course

This isn't anything trans related as much, but I was wondering if i would be able to have some advice :-)

So I have been at uni for about 5ish months now and I really don't like my course (doing international relations and mandarin), i've been researching courses which would appeal much more to me and I have chosen radiotherapy/ diagnostic radiotherapy. But it seems like such a big change, should I just carry on with my course or take a risk and change courses.

It may cost you some time, but can you really work in a field you don't at least somewhat enjoy?

Lots of people change majors.  I switched from Biomedical engineering to computer engineering to computer science.  I even dropped out of one university and started back at another.  Happiness is so much more important.

I switched from architectural engineering to psychology to pre-pharmacy and I'm considering just starting over with music. What you've described doesn't sound like too big of a change.

I actually ended up in architectural engineering! I started wanting to be an architect, and then a civil engineer.

I switched from political science to nursing and I'm so glad I did!
Plus, I don't think any education ever really goes to waste. (:

In two months, I will finally graduate college, after switching my majors a few times.  I started college over 6 years ago.  It's worth making sure you have the right major.

I switched from a part-time Diploma in one subject to a full-time BA in four. 
Changing courses or Schools within the Uni is not that uncommon as there is provision on the Current Students section of my Uni's  website for this option.  Better now than in three years.

I would suggest talking to students doing the course to get an idea of what is involved, as well as any other info.

This. You're only a few months in. If you're going to make a change, now's a great time to do it.

News Flash! Even if you graduate with a degree in one field that doesn't mean you are locked into that field or that the degree was wasted.

I have two Bachelor of Science degrees: agriculture and botany & plant pathology, but most recently I received my Doctorate in physical therapy. In between I managed to also get a Master of Fine Arts in Dance. Follow your bliss--it's the process not the product that is most important. Five months is nothing--change away to your heart's content.
