Again, this is one of my "notes to myself" that ppl suggested posting because it's a convenient way to keep notes online. Again, input from those who have gone through this process already -hopefully in Canada- would be greatly appreciated

this is for those hoping to have srs covered by MSP
month 0: bring picture ID, care card, name change certificate

    • find a trans-friendly GP and talk to them about hormone therapy
    • get a mental health assessment and get approved for hormone therapy&ask about SRS
    • get a physical health evaluation

    ~1 year of RLE~

    month 12:

    • get GP to write letter recommending you for SRS and give it to funding contact at MSP
    • MSP will get you to meet with 2 approved assessors (must be arranged by MSP)
    • get approved-->be diagnosed with GID, recommended for SRS, confirm 1yr RLE, confirm psychologically stable

    month idk:
surgery! don't know if they do chest and hysterectomy/oophorectomy at same time and not sure if the hysterectomy/oophorectomy still require 2yr RLE

Hormone effect: (I'm summarizing main stuff, there's more effects)
    1-3 months:

    • increased growth, coarseness, thickness of hair
    • oily skin
    • increased muscle mass and redistribution of fat

    1-6  months:
    period stops

    3-6 months:
voice cracks, can take a year to finish changing

1 year+: gradual growth of facial hair

just some youtube links on how to inject although you should have a medical professional teach you formally
