An Indiana high school journalism teacher has been suspended for two months after allowing an op-ed piece to run that advocates tolerance of gays.

Woodlan Junior-Senior High School teacher Amy Sorrell was placed on paid leave Monday while her job is under review, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.

The editorial by sophomore Megan Chase, which ran in the Jan. 19 issue of the Woodlan Tomahawk, describes a friend coming out as gay to her.

So, now you see the conservative requirement for an article to be declared "pro-gay."

The article was not even really an op-ed. It was a personal narrative.

But because the article did not have anti-gay rhetoric in that narrative, nor was it accompanied by an anti-gay disclaimer, the article was deemed to be morally offensive.
Why? Because it shows that queer students are real people with feelings deserving of compassion. "They" can't have that!

Queers can only be presented in the media, any media, if the message that goes along with the article is that being queer is BAD!!!  Or, that the queer person represented in the article hates being queer.  That is OK too!!!

Ideally, the only queer people they want to read about are those that hate themselves, have killed themselves, or are "cured," of their homosexuality.  Woo-hoo!

Queers are gone -- world is safe now.  :: sigh ::
